G'day!
|
20 years ago...we lost Benny....
Just watched this video...pretty hilarious.....
I used to watch Benny Hill almost every week when it was on late at night. I remember so many weekend nights coming home from a night out - somewhat intoxicated and somewhat disenfranchised - only to flip on his show and wind up in a better mood than I had been all day! Good stuff and well worth remembering....thank you Benny! BTW all 3 performers in this skit are no longer with us...R.I.P. - and make every day count my friends.

I was very young and I watched.
Like the show quite a bit. Didn't know he passed on though. I remember him as the -Toy Maker- from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang also. Have you checked out- THE KEVIN BISHOP SHOW- In the U.K. Check out ELTON JOHN STAR STORIES OFF YOU TUBE- I assure you of great laughs and you will look for more.

I was thinking about him and his jokes the other day. You know when you are house painting and you are so bored you remmember jokes from decades ago. I used to laugh when he dressed up as an air hostess and said "Hi, I'm Candy." Also when he did the weather and pointed at some chicks tits and said "A warm front over here."

Benny was a genius! I used to watch him when I was kid growing up in the UK in the late '70s and '80s. I miss those days...sigh.

He was a funny man with a funny show. You are making me feel old knowing he died 20 years ago.

Used to watch him all the time on late-night re-runs. Loved his show and also "Dave Allen at Large" which was on right afterwards.

Please don't blame the doggie ...
It's not his fault at all. Someone left a wet umbrella standing in the hall. B. Hill |

He was awesome.
I have little three puppies. The first one I call Happy, cause he's the happiest The second one I call Mean, cause he's the meanest The third one I call Liberace, cause he's the peeinest. One of my fave skits was when hes was spoofing Jaques Cousteau. They searching for "The foward walking crab" which was very rare, "because as you know, unless you are a bloody stupid idiot, that crabs walk sideways." jackie wright,( the old guy) was walking around with a scuba tank on with coffee in it.

Benny is at this girls place..She comes out with a plate with two pieces of pie..One piece is considerably larger than the other one..She offers him a piece..He takes the largest piece..She says " naughty naughty, if I was a guest I would have taken the small piece..
Benny says, Well , you got the bloody small piece didn't ya !.. Growing up, any time my friends and I would see a guy holding a hose watering something, we'd say He's doing the Benny Hill

I read somewhere the other day that Benny is not considered PC over there anymore. Shame, cause he sure was funny!

THANKS! I didn't know BH was the Toy Maker, I'm watching Chitty Chitty right now off of my DVR.................Truly Scrumptious is one HOT mama....the cars are gorgeous in that movie too.
Ian Flemming of James Bond fame wrote that. And I love that Dick Van Dyke playing Caractacus Potts, basic his name is Crack Pot. great movie, inspired me to become an engineer later in life. Heck I used to have the pop-up book of that movie with moving gadgets on many of the pages........ Quote:
