That person you trust today may very well be your adversary tomorrow.

Trust yourself and your parents.

If you cannot trust those people then GOD bless you.

I have a slightly different take:
Myself. All the rest lose my trust over time by their actions and integrity.

One by one, people do something that earns my disrespect. They never gain it back.

I'm not perfect. I've earned disrespect on my own. I try to learn from that and not repeat. I don't ask for forgiveness.

You can generally "trust" a man to do what is in his own best interests.....

Guys trusting your women........ do you read the papers??????

How many guys have been sold down the river by a woman who has "found a better deal".......or eventually earned a kicking to the curb....

Trust no one, however, you do not have to be rude about it.

I trust myself & my wife and a few others to a much lesser degree. When my parents were alive I certainly couldn't trust them. They lied to their kids a bunch.

And those of us who weren't being sold down the river never make the posting board chat...

No- Because normalcy rarely does.

All my immediate family, without exception and most of my friends. In fact I trust a whole load of people, but that doesn't mean I have to tell them everything!

Those who are married and can't put their wife in number 1 position (or 2 after yourself), probably shouldn't be in that relationship!

I trust my wife and daughter. I cut everybody lots of slack including myself. If I abuse the trust I am given, then I have nobody to blame but myself. If others abuse the trust I have given them, then my demeanor gets meaner.

My Family, Daisy (my yellow lab), and believe it or not my first wife, Sue.

dennis in se pa 10-12-2012 01:29 PM

Yeah, I forgot, I trust my dogs.

AND

"Those who are married and can't put their wife in number 1 position (or 2 after yourself), probably shouldn't be in that relationship!" IS SPOT ON!

Notice I did not say I trust my wife. Hmmm.

Half of all marriages end in divorce and half of the ones that don't......... "want to"..

those are pretty bad odds. I didn't say be rude to the lady, I merely suggest being thoughtful about what you tell her.

Every man has his demons............ best to keep them to himself.

vash 10-12-2012 01:39 PM

is trustworthy and dependable the same thing?

dennis in se pa 10-12-2012 01:41 PM

Re: Every man has his demons....

Something Teddy Roosevelt understood....

"There is not one among us in whom the devil does not dwell.

At some time on some point that devil masters each of us.

It is not having been in the dark house, but having left it that counts."

"Love all, trust a few, do wrong to none."

William Shakespeare

I try, at least the last two.

Wife, Father, Son and Daughter and some very close friends with whom I have fought, flown and have earned my trust. And me, theirs.

You just know.

My instincts

Some of my friends and family are probably more worthy of trust than me. I am truly blessed. I absolutely, positively, know for a fact that my GF would not betray me.

I have four sisters. One of them has clear title to a lakefront property probably worth $500k, or nearly, even in this market. It was willed to her, but with the understanding that the five of us would share it. Now, years later, we are talking about how do dispose of or re-deed the property. Any of the five of us would be just as trustworthy. I am blessed.
