Anyone work for the USPS, I have a message
New source of revenue: offer alias and coded addresses beyond the POB.
With all the eBay and private forum deals going on, it makes sense to extend your anonymity of your Internet persona and user name to all forms of contact. The USPS could set up a program where mail is decoded once arriving at the zip code. Return addresses can be coded as well, but the USPS will know that address in the event of a return. Postage is scheduled to rise to .46 in 01/2013. I'd pay a lot more for coded mail. |

How about z3#$&ttko*m?
Or maybe just this: ![]() When it goes through the auto sorter, it's routed all the way to the letter carrier's box where he scans it and notes the physical address. A point of this is not just security, but a source of revenue for the USPS. They need to do something before long or we won't have them for long. Now maybe the USA is chartered in a way that mandates postal service. I haven't gotten that far. But whatever mandates there are, they don't set the minimum standards for the USPS to exist as a competitive delivery service. They need to step up and do things that UPS and FedEx can't do and get more people to use those services. |

mail is very picky about who owns a box
when we lived on a boat at anchor there was NO WAY to get a box without a valid checked address |
