				The Porsche 908 Coupe

Tell me about these. What could one expect to drop on a car like this? My favorite Porsche racer. I like the way it looks. It's got a ridiculous power to weight ratio. And I guess there's something a little odd about an air cooled flat 8. Here's two for sale, no prices. http://www.finecars.cc/en/detail/car/43960/index.html?no_cache=1&ret=63 1968 Porsche 908K Coupe for sale: Anamera

Notice that neither of the two adverts even come close to mentioning a price. Thats not a good sign for being able to write a check and drive it home...

Even a well made repro with a 3-3.6 engine would make me a very happy person. Beautiful car, excellent weight to power ratio and its a Porsche.

Depending on history, last rebuild, parts inventory, etc, etc etc,... 500K to 750K would be my guess. The bench racers will now flame me....

Wayne Carini said once on an episode of Chasing Classic Cars that the $650,000 or so spent at auction on a 906 was 908 money and thought it was too much. I figured these cars were sub million. Does anyone here know how many 908's were built? There doesn't seem to be a ton of info out there on these like there is on the 917's.

If you read between the lines here: Porsche 908 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia there were 50 built in 1968 (style shown in the pictures above) to qualify them to race. The number was changed to 25 in 1969.....

Does anyone make a 908 replica? My heart is still set on a Beck 904... not that it is in my budget any time soon

Very nice video and loved the sound. Sad that he was not really pushing the car but still very nice. That is a race car. None of this crap paddle shifter, auto gearboxes or traction control, it was up to the driver to control the car and win, not a bloody computer. We should go back to that and see who is the best driver, not who has the best computer or KERS! Joe A
