French Press v. Chemex!
Ok coffee snobs... What maker do you prefer? I've been using a chemex for a bout a year now... Mine has developed a chip/crack in the pour spout and is going to need replaced soon I feel. So should I stay with the Chemex, or make the jump to French Press? Is anyone here familiar with both enough to give a definitive on which is better or easier to use? I generally make one 16oz cup in the morning with my chemex....

I prefer either a Super-Automatic or an Italian Moka coffee maker.

Oh and how are you guys heating water for the FP? I've been using a big pyrex measuring cup in the microwave to get my hot water.... Would an electric kettle be faster?

With a Moka, you heat direct on the stove.

i'll probably be the only one.
i have (and love) those electric kettles. i have the tendency to hit "go" on the stovetop and simply forget, until the kettle is burned dry.. i've used mine to hard boil eggs..multi-tasker. i love it. i put my stovetop kettle into my brothers camper.

I thought about an electric one... Problem is I am moving home in a few months, and space for plug in appliances in their kitchen is limited....
