Help!! Kremer 930 Slant Nose

I have just bought this car... was hoping to get some help as to how many were made, colors, options? Were they available without stripes, or if all cars were just one-off/customer preferenced vehicles.
1981 model, imported into US in 9/1980. Any and all help would be appreciated.

I'm assuming it began life as a 911SC targa. Kinda cool car. I'd try to find some classic BBS's with the wheel fans and maybe change that hideous front bumper/valence. I'm diggin' the stripes though, very '80s cool.

There is a 935 registry - the cars on that site look very much like this car.

Apparently targas and cabs were built as well. I would have thought only coupes as that's all I've ever seen - but I was dead wrong! Cabs/targas and coupes. I do not know enough about yours to know if it is a real one or if it is a tribute. The euro rear side lights with euro rear fogs and the US impact bumpers is odd but it could be a federalization thing - who knows.

I guarantee someone here knows something about this, but if not, the 935 registry would be a place to go. http://www.dp935registry.com/

I spoke with the guys at Kremer racing a couple of days ago..... it has a badge under the hood, with a Kremer model # and serial #. These guys told me it was a real Kremer car.... The front bumper is terrible(i know), but I am hesitant to change because this is the way it came.... The wheels are BBS 3 piece, very light, 7.5" in front and 11" wide in back; I don't think I'll change them. Original turbo car, but upon customs inspection, a converter was added and exhaust pipe choked down to 2". I noticed the stripes look like a DP car.. but I really don't like them(color choice is horrible)... but still a cool idea.

That is GREAT news!!!

As far as changing things...well I kind of like the stripes. They were unique to the era and to the car. As far as the bumper goes, not a huge fan of it, but again, unique to the car which is now proven to be the real deal.

About the only thing I would change is the engine alterations done to be US. Let it breathe like it was intended... I might also put euro bumperettes on it as I'm sure that's what it originally had (and I think they are available on Pelican).

Also, the best source of 911/930/935 etc., is the 911 forum on this BBS. Alot of people who post there do not post in this section. No exageration here - the knowledge pool of Porsche is so deep in that section you need a sonar to find the bottom.

Put exhaust back to original and uncork that beast! I'm in the camp of people who wasn't crazy about that styling when it was current but kind of like it in a nostalgic way now. Does it have adjustable boost with the knob between seats? The ones I drove back in the '80s were very quick.

Very cool!

I like it, stripes, bumpers, Targa, colors and all.

From the sticker on the windshield, was this at some kind of auction?

I don't think those are BBS wheels. If they are, they are unlike any BBS wheels that I remember from the 80s. They look like Epsilon wheels to me.

No, they're definitely BBS E78's, period correct

Epsilons were slightly different, and the centers were typically bolted outside the rim, not sandwiched

Post it over in the slant nose thread in the 930 forum, lots of info and knowledgeable people there and a few Kremer nuts. Does it have one of those Kremer full width intercoolers?

It sold at ADESA Pipeline (St Albans, WV) at a consignment auction on 10/19/2012
VIN 110008, mileage 18,605 (announced not actual, grey market import)

I know what it sold for, and you didn't do too bad

Kaisen, were you the other bidder?? lol! We think we did good as well.... it needs a lot of work, but the finished product should be a very unusual car.... The Intercooler is stock 3.3L turbo style... does have adjustable knob in center for boost control! Very cool feature. I don't know about the stripes tho... thought about painting entire car white.... and maybe even the wheel centers.... Thanks for the input... we are excited about the project..

I'd mirror the sentiments here and keep the car exactly as it is in terms of cosmetic treatments. If it needs paint, then duplicate it exactly, incl the wheel centers (careful, they're magnesium centers). The white on white schemes really didn't come into fashion until the Miami Vice era -- 1984 or so. The White/Gold/Brown was very "end-of-disco" and it fits the car.

Mechanically, it will be worth more in original Kremer euro-spec tune.

I assume you intend to resell it at some point?

In Porsche matters, at least.

I would not touch it, other than to get it mechanically "right", (exhaust, etc.). The paint looks mint and original. Unless you want to spend a fortune to make it less valuable. That car has collector value as it is, almost none if butchered in any way.

I don't mean offense by that, but collectors are generally purists and that car is pure and rare as all hell. Targa + the stickers on the rear, etc...

Put it back to 100% original euro w/ small rear bumperettes and exhaust, drive and enjoy. That car with original performance, slant nose and open top will be more fun than a barrel of lesbians to drive.

Drive it around Beverly Hills and some rich middle-aged Persian who's feeling nostalgic will give you serious grip for it.

We will eventually resell..... but it most definitely needs paint, especially in front, and pass side. My body guy is a perfectionist, and has done other cars in the past for us.....I may even sell my red car and keep this one.. I would like to know how many of these cars are out there. This car resembles more of a DP car than Kremer.. but I assume they produced similar models for similar customers. We would like to put a more free flowing exhaust on it.. probably Fabspeed, or something of the like... but that will be all of the aftermarket mods... sounds like the stripes are there to stay! I will need to borrow a bomber jacket however... seeing that ill spend all my extra money on the car....
