Gun Cleaner - Ballistol Multi-Purpose Lubricant Cleaner Protectant

Recently watched Hickok45 (love that guy) video as he used this to clean a revolver.
Anyone?
I just ordered a 3 bottle kit from Amazon...rave reviews.

I use Ed's Red that I made up a while back, still have a bit. Not a popular scent, but it does fine, and with the quantity you end up with, you tend not to economize when cleaning.

I use a water/Ballistol mix at the range to clean my black powder guns between shots and it does wonders. I use full strength (few drops) on my muzzle loader stocks that are not lacquer finished and it really makes them shine. No greasy or sticky feel.

I just use straight water for any black powder clean-up, followed by Hoppe's #9 as just a rust preventative. For smokeless, I have tried quite possibly everything under the sun, including the myriad of home brew concoctions from Ed's Red to God knows what else. I'll break out the Sweet's 7.62 occasionally for the real hot-rods like the .220 Swift, but other than that, I've gone back to Hoppe's #9 for everything. That, and I just don't clean as often as I used to. I never use a bore brush of any kind on anything, just wet and dry patches. More guns are ruined by over cleaning these days than by not cleaning - the days of corrosive primers and propellants (other than black powder) are well behind us.

I use Hoppes for everything except the Remington 742 and I hose that with Remoil or it doesn't cycle properly. I do have a .22 converion on a 1911 that will now FTF the first couple rounds after cleaning and relubing but it only has a couple hundred rounds through it. It also had issues with FTF the first 50 rounds as well. .22LR can be dirty, dirty , dirty.

For blaCK POWDER i USE automobile water pump lubricant while at the range to clean the bore every few shots and to wet my patches. When I gets home I use a bucket of hot water with some soap in it and then dry with patches, and finally a rust preventive lubricant.

I just use Safariland CLP. It may not get it 100% clean; but it's clean enough.

One thing I don't like to see (on range guns) are those "dry" lube's. The amount of shiny worn metal on bolts is awful.

I use a product called Gunzilla. Isn't a harsh smelling solvent so you can clean almost anywhere.

Ballistol universal here.
I'm not big on cleaning, i just sprays the Ballistol inside and out and run a boresnake through em.
my bone stock Winchester 70 shoots 1/3rd MOA and has been doing so for ages with this kind of cleaning.
The metal likes it
the wood likes it
it keeps rust away and the gun isn't greasy from it.

Just don't breathe through your nose after a spray, it will clear your sinusses.
