Would you go to the hospital for this?

I am debating it right now. Took a rum bottle to the head last night...

Yes! Dude, big time. Its not a bad injury, but you need a plastic surgeon to take a look at it and sew it up cleanly. Its right on your hairline. You do not want it healing up on its own, because your hair will always be messed up in that spot.

Well the alcohol killed any bacteria. Was it Bacardi or Captain Morgan? Oh the question, na.

If you're over 6 hours it can not be simply stitched together, but needs debridement and then stitching. Won't change much for you, except the bill will be triple.

loss of consciousness at any time for even a moment?

any nausea or vomiting?

any headaches?

get someone to give you a pupil test also - if no one knows how to do it, just get to the ER

Tis only a flesh wound.

Really guys?
Ok.. so I am not a doctor, but this really looks like a DIY project to me. Shave it, clean it, put on a few butterfly sutures and call it done.

Worried about the hair line? Do you even have a man-card???

The bigger man-card violation is using instagram.

Shave around the perimeter, clean thoroughly and apply Super Glue, count to five.
Apply bandage and you're good to go.

He was hit with a rum bottle, the one's that are made out of glass, apparently, which could have worked into his scalp. The splotch is wide enough to invite infection, etc. in addition to potential trauma.

I could care less about the cosmetics. Our young Jedi needs to get treated for all the interesting by-products of his adventures.

I have enough scars from my time in youth, some I wish I had gotten help for.

You also assume the head hair will remain on this young feller. If there is any balding in the future, this spot will be very exposed ...

Report back with how many shards they found stuck in the skull. And we want to hear the story how it happened too at the Halloween party!

flesh wounds can have different effects when they are made to the head - it is where ye ol' brain resides

the things I listed are common indicators of injury to the brain (if you do experience projectile vomiting, try to hit an ER nurse -- some of them are extremely agile, based on experience no doubt)

the cosmetics are no biggie - by the time it shows much you'll be bald

the chance of infection is also a bit greater risk factor 'cuz of all the "important stuff up there"
