Hysterical woman slaps officer, grabbed by hair while her house burns

Didn't see any post this yet, I'm interested to see what happens. I can understand she was extremely distressed because her house was burning but if you slap an officer twice, you better expect to be thrown down shortly there after.

Yeah, extreme emotion is excused but not assaulting a cop. Even though it was a woman and he was not really in danger of being hurt by her, she had a set of handcuffs coming. Her excuse that she did not know who was grabbing her doesn't add up. It was broad daylight and a whole bunch of uniforms was pushing her back.

When firefighters or the police are doing their job, you don't jump in front of them unless you want to go down hard.

Well, her emotions were to the max.... That trumps restraint and reason every single time.

Who the cop or the woman? Her house is burning, I'd say there is some serious emotion there. The cop is just retaliating, pretty stupid on his part.

I guess I just can't imagine being in such an emotional state that I start wildly slapping all over the place. And it is note worthy that she didn't do anything to her husband who was in between the two

The cop could have made a better asessment of the actual threat, but he's not in the wrong. Sucks for everybody.

The three of them need to have a beer summit and call it a day.

Did the cops need to give her the treatment over a couple hysterical slaps? No.

But like hell you should come down on the cops. Those guys are on the street everyday, facing injury or worse. There have to be lines in the sand. And I think a pretty firm line is, "You do not strike a police officer. Period." Cops put up with enough schit. They shouldn't be expect to be human punching bags. They're human beings.

That is rather aligned with my thinking. She didn't take a swing at her husband and if you watch the video, she belted the cop TWICE with a pause in between. For someone "blinded by emotion" her aim was pretty concise.

Pop him once, under the circumstances - not cool, but it comes with the territory - write it off. But the second time? Sorry, that is a whole 'nother story.

I think it's this. Sure maybe there is some absolute Ghandi like cop somewhere that you can slap and he'll just let it go, but that's a little bit unreasonable. He is under stress as well. If you think it's easy dealing with a hysterical woman, you've never done it.

Exactly, and all of this guys training says to deliver a beat down when attacked... Like they said he might over look one hit, but on round two its all over...

I'd bet most of us would do the same....
