Handloading is a wonderful hobby. I've done it all my life and have never had an issue of any kind. I cannot remember the last time I bought factory centerfire ammo.

my father in law knows the owners of SGC. my friend who has his class III license does all their full auto repairs.

so yeah reloads at SGC are a BIG no no. they even sell dillion equipment whose right around the corner 10 minutes away.


i will never forget one summer up in pinetop az, we went to "ye old shootin volcanic cinder pit" to go plinking with .22's. we were maybe 12-13 yrs old. rode our minibikes over from cabins. saw this old kawboy with a big azzd rifle on a clamped shooting stand. we started plinking and suddenly this giant azzd EXPLOSION GOES OFF and damn near made us poo ourselves. "WTF WAS THAT?" so we go over and ask him what iz that thing? he replied its a .416 rigby. us not knowing what that was , we asked some more questions. well this ol boy was loading hot reloads and was afeared of them. to the point he had tied a string to the trigger and stood back a few feet when he lit that damn thing off. that was my 1st life experience with handloading! and it left a lasting impression.


i want santa to bring me a dillion reloader this year! i have been a good lil boy.......honest. already gotz me my .308 dies and .338 win mag dies!

EVERYBODY that saw or heard of the TAURUS .44 mag SQUIB IS AMAZED HE WASNT KILLED! god/buddah etc. was on his side that day.

i personally wouldnt own a taurus despite a lifetime warranty. sub par machine work as far as i am concerned, and i have machined a hell of a lot of parts in my life with tolerances to 78 MILLION-THS!(NASA PARTS).


and i sure as hell wouldnt buy anything except a steel framed .44 mag vs titanium or scandium. i really dont think they have the science down yet as far as metallurgy. and i am not going to be the lab rat TEST guinea pig. plus everyone i have spoken to that owns one praise how lightweight they are and CRINGE EVERYTIME THEY FIRE IT BECAUSE ITS A LIGHTWEIGHT AND HURTS LIKE HELL TO SHOOT IT!


so if ya anticipate the PAIN, how in hells name are you going to concentrate on yer shot? aka sight picture bobbing and weaving??>???


despite being magnaported on both of my smiths, i can gurrantee YOU a RECOIL LIKE YOU HAVE NEVER FELT OR SEEN with buffalo bore or corbon bear banger rounds.


and i sure as hell know i am at my limit for a smith and what it can handle. matter of fact i think in either corbon or buffalo bore website it states some rounds are NOT TO BE USED IN A TAURUS because of HIGH SAMMI PRESSURES! as well as some rounds NOT meant for smiths.

my fool brother gave away his dillion. he is flat out kicking himself.

he never saw a .44 magnum in his future. i dont reload anymore. no room at the house. i dont even build my own arrows.

.45 and 9mm..i can melt barrels when i go home to shoot. i have virtually unlimited ammo.

how much is a can of bear spray? ..i will probably go with the slug gun option. flip flop days on who is bowhunting. the non-hunter carries the shotgun.

flame me on this re: snotguns and what rounds. my alaskan pilot amigos like for the very 1st round ............#6 BIRDSHOT! BLIND THE BEAR when hes attacking. that way he cant carry on the charge directly at you. then follow up with a real nice breneke slug( i think its the black magic), then 000 buck or 00 buck then slug then 000 or OO buck and repeat as necessary.


but the BEST LINE I HEARD re: bear spoons................. was from phil arrington(aringtonaccuracy.com) "with a 30 rd mag of .308...................there aint a bear ALIVE that can stand that punishment!" LOL!
