Ever not give a gift?

I'm very torn, I started building something this summer intending it as a birthday present to a friend, I finished it last weekend, and now I want to keep it!!! I'd be giving it away tonight. I boxed it up over the weekend, took it out of the box Monday morning and put it with my stuff. Then I boxed it up again Monday night. I'd be giving it out tonight if I do.

Trouble is, it can't be bought, or I'd just buy myself one. I keep telling myself I'll appreciate the work that went into it more than who is getting it.

Ugh, mental Trauma here.

I only give a gift card if I have absolutely no clue what else to do.

Sadly, I think they'll appreciate it, I'll find out soon. I'd of probably never made it if I hadn't started on it with the recipient in mind.

I say give it. I built a Technic F1 car when I was about 6. It was more detailed as it had an engine with pistons and connecting rods in it.

Ferrari's are unacceptable in this case. They are Mclaren's main rival, so giving a Ferrari would be a serious SERIOUS faux pas. Pretty much every lego F1 kit made is a Ferrari. I bought a Ferrari kit, and used its wheels/tires on this as I only had very old technic wheels that where more industrial.

On your link, These guys caught my eye, I wasted 30 minutes looking at this guys F1's, pretty cool.

LOL! You must be kidding, right? How old are you?

If you are serious, aren't these all std. legos you can get together again for your own model?

Regarding the original question:
I bought a set of rims for a friends C4 corvette. They were to be a Christmas present. I got a good deal on them, and I knew he did not have the funds for the rims.

Then he went on some drunk-ass bender for a few months and was a real PITA to everyone around him. The rims stayed in my warehouse for about a year until I sold them on Craigslist.

Regarding the legos:
They are legos.

I used a lot of pieces I have no duplicates of, so no. I could hunt down sets that have them, and take a few pieces here, a few pieces there. I did buy a Lego Ferrari F1 and stole four tires, four wheels, and two other pieces off of the kit for this. Now I guess its the new Ferrari Hover 1.

And I did end up wrapping, and giving it away.
