Backdated, stripped, Kevlar panels, 850kg

This guy could be one of US!!

RWebb 11-21-2012 12:51 PM

Thanks!

Cool, but what was up with an older Chevy conversion van in the parking lot:confused:

I would say he has "broader" or "more eccentric" tastes in auto design. I don't think that the Veyron would've come off of any Pelican's drawing board (I say this as a compliment to Pelicans). :D

Very interesting fellow. I like his thoughts on design. He can be both high tech and low tech. Shows why he is the head of design at Bugatti. His creative mind is flexible and he is hands on.

Cool vid. I especially like how he lifted the shifter.

Thanks Eric!

Didn't know Germans were involved with the Bugatti design. I wish I had all those Kevlar panels for MY SC!

Love the "direct water injection".

Open injector stacks while driving in the rain? How does that work out for ya'? :)

TheMentat 11-22-2012 08:50 AM

Wow... 1800 lbs. Sounds like he's making amends for the Veyron! :D

k9handler 11-22-2012 08:59 AM

thanks for posting this...when I eventually get another 911 it will be in this spirit of design. WOW...I love it!

Hawkeye's-911T 11-22-2012 09:17 AM

His solution to the finishing of Fuchs wheels was kinda cool.
Many Thanks Eric
Cheers

At the 1:46 mark.... beautiful. I love velocity stacks on Webers. :)

Don Plumley 11-22-2012 10:43 AM

That's so cool - inspirational. One day...

Great video thanks for posting.

Does a particular company product those backdate panels? Specifically the rear decklid, hood, and front fenders?

azasadny 11-22-2012 07:58 PM

Cool! Thanks!!

masraum 11-22-2012 08:15 PM

Very cool, but what's even cooler than the car itself is that it sounds like he did a lot of the work himself.

aigel 11-22-2012 09:05 PM

Lightweight makes a lot of sense - that's appreciated. But why is everyone backdating the accordeon bumper cars? This will be a big regret in the future, just like the longhoods now which were made into slantnose 80s cars ...

I can't get over the weather. I am sure they didn't chose a random day to shoot this - probably waited a month and couldn't find a dry day. :) I HATE German weather.

nice clean car, would have thought he would have patched the stock exhaust cutout location though when using the center exit exhausts.
