Best vacation ever....
The thread below re. holiday suggestions triggered me to think of the best vacations I ever had. Mine was with my parents when I was a teenager and we rented a houseboat in Salcombe, Devon , England. The houseboat came with a motor boat and a rowing boat. Fun times catching fish(sole), sightseeing, and visiting Salcombe. And your best was?

We took our conversion van and pop-up-camper around the outside perimeter of Michigan checking out beaches and lighthouses. We also hit up the dune buggie rides on the sand dunes, hit a 4th of July air show, checked out all the big ships at the S. Ste Marie locks, and rode through them on a fireworks ferry cruise at night.
Just really relaxed with no urgent time schedule, and stopped at whatever looked interesting. |

When a young man, four guys and a Donzi, water skiing for a week on Lake Cumberland, KY.
Ski all day. Hang out and party in the evening with folks at the lodge - totally relaxed after the day on the water.
