RIP Zig Ziglar

When I decided to get into sales a couple of decades ago, Ziglar's books were the ones I turned to for training and motivation. He was very old school but I loved his message. He had a unique voice and was very entertaining. I've since moved on to reading and listening to other sales gurus but once in while I go back to the fundamentals. He was good for that. RIP Ole Zig.

Anyone else listen to or read Zig in the old days?

Old school is right. A lot of his stuff is no longer relevant.

I thought I saw another thread here a few days ago?

He was a lot older when he died than I remember, like 90?

RIP

I just found out tonight that he has passed away. I don't doubt that someone started a thread on the day of his death. Nothing gets past Pelicans.

Garage
"When I first started selling cookware, I sold a lot. I sold my couch, my TV...."

His stories are outdated but some of the principles remain valuable.

I was never into sales.
However, his principles have been and still are of value to me.

I saw him too with a cavalcade of guest stars when my company sent our whole "team" on a whale discount package. Lots of happy talk about attitude that really had no place in my everyday worklife. You would get as much by using the daily motivation desk calendar--"Ask yourself, is my attitude worth catching?" etc.ziglar
