Go Kansas State
Looks like the bowl selection is in...facing the Ducks. Not for the national championship...but a good matchup, I hope. Again..Go Kansas State!
|
It figures you'd suddenly become a fan! I'm looking forward to it, should be a great match-up. Better had it been in Miami, but such is life. There are a number of parallels between the way Stanford and KSU play football, and Stanford did a great job of stifling the Ducks offense. Now we just have to wait a LOOOOOONG month before college football is back.
|
Yep..hope your wise old coach studies the Stanford game well...then realizes that "Chip" will be working on some new wrinkles. I also hope your defensive players are in top shape and are fast enough to cut off the edges...
|
Trees versus Badgers...I hope the team that beat the Cornshuckers shows up again but also really appreciate the way Stanford conducts business.
|
It is great to see K State doing so well. For so many years they were just a whipping boy.
GO KS! |
Yeah, it's now been shown there are ways to slow down Oregon and keep them from scoring.
IMO this is going to be a coaching battle more than anything. If KSU is well coached, and well prepared they certainly have a chance to win this game. |
Stanford is a really good team, that should be a good game too.
Their freshman QB has so much poise, and plays such mistake-free football. As does the rest of their team. The Stanford/UCLA PAC12 final was a good game. |
Nebraska was so schizophrenic this year, looked horrible against Wisconsin.
I like that old guy coaching K State, class act; yeah, they are well coached. Pool Hall Paul rooting against the Ducks, go figure. |

#1 is the Oregon State University Beavers. #2 is whoever is playing against the University of Oregon Ducks. |
I am just lost on the BCS...yep my Ducks lost ONE game by a FG in OT. If you aint #1 or #2 you might as well call all the other bowl games the Pro Bowl Games. We need a workable playoff system ASAP, and not one where SEC biased computers rank the top teams and they are in the playoffs. cmon man, even an NFL wild card team can be the champs!
Go Ducks! |

don't agree...Ducks overall season schedule played more ranked oponents...and when the season counts (last few weeks) the SEC has essentully a bye week? I think every team in a bid for the championship should be in a conference championship level game. I can't stand Bama, but even they played a tough game to get in the big game while ND rested or should I say coasted into it.
|
Here it is...
The Duckies schedule and the scores...Oh wow, look at all those powerhouse names. Nothing remotely a contest until the USC game.
ND may have coasted...but they didn't lose. The Ducks did. Sat, Sep 1 Arkansas State W 57-34 -- Sat, Sep 8 Fresno State W 42-25 -- Sat, Sep 15 Tennessee Tech W 63-14 -- Sat, Sep 22 (22) Arizona W 49-0 -- Sat, Sep 29 at Washington State W 51-26 -- Sat, Oct 6 (23) Washington W 52-21 -- Thu, Oct 18 at Arizona State W 43-21 -- Sat, Oct 27 Colorado W 70-14 -- Sat, Nov 3 at (17) USC W 62-51 -- Sat, Nov 10 at California W 59-17 -- Sat, Nov 17 (13) Stanford L 14-17 -- Sat, Nov 24 at (15) Oregon State W 48-24 |
guess the Ducks should join the SEC then...there is no good method to determine strength in NCAA play. Stay true to your team is all I can say. BTW...5 of them were ranked the week they played the Ducks.

09/08/12 vs. Western Kentucky Tuscaloosa, Ala. W, 35-0
09/15/12 at Arkansas * Fayetteville, Ark. W, 52-0 09/22/12 vs. Florida Atlantic Tuscaloosa, Ala. W, 40-7 09/29/12 vs. Ole Miss * Tuscaloosa, Ala. W, 33-14 10/13/12 at Missouri * Columbia, Mo. W, 42-10 10/20/12 at Tennessee * Knoxville, Tenn. W, 44-13 10/27/12 vs. Mississippi State * Tuscaloosa, Ala. W, 38-7 11/03/12 at LSU * Baton Rouge, La. W, 21-17 11/10/12 vs. Texas A&M * Tuscaloosa, Ala. L, 29-24 11/17/12 vs. Western Carolina Tuscaloosa, Ala. W, 49-0 11/24/12 vs. Auburn * Tuscaloosa, Ala. W, 49-0 Not a difficult schedule (3 ranked oponents) here either! AND, Kansas St declined to play the Ducks to open the season...that would have been 6 ranked oponents. |
Be a little bit realistic, the PAC12 is not a powerhouse conference this year. Oregon State is good but not great, USC is an overrated joke, and Stanford is very good. So good that they beat Oregon and should have beaten ND (twice!). The Big12 top to bottom is acknowledged by most talking heads as being the deepest conference, but even I won't argue that the SEC is stronger at the top. ND also played a pretty weak schedule, and barely managed to beat most of those teams.
Sadly our playoff system will only start at 4 teams, so we'll still be having this argument in 2014. |
UO did indeed have a fairly weak schedule early on -- they are doing quite well considering the very young team they have this year
|
agree...BCS sucks!!!!
|
GO Kansas State!:D
|
and...Bielema defects to Arkansas...super.
