Anyone want to buy the nicest Lexus IS300 EVER!?!?!
2002 Lexus IS300
69,700 miles Millenium Silver Metallic Black leather/alcantara Factory 18" alloys Sunroof Dual power seats (and everything else) Factory HID's Factory logo carpet and rubber winter floor mats Fog lights Heated seats Actually it IS probably is the nicest anywhere. I've babied this thing like no other. It has seen exactly one winter on the road (last winter) and it was pretty mild. I'm selling this because I just bought a truck and I can't justify using this as my "utility" vehicle. Its just too nice and it has been kept so nice for so long. Technically, I am the third owner. My father bought it around 2004 from a coworker of his who is a nutball when it comes to car maintenance. This guy swiffered the engine compartment a few times a week. My father never drove it so I purchased it from him and put the majority (45,000) of the miles on it. For a car 13 years old, its really immaculate. Hopefully the pictures below do it justice. Currently the car has a high end stereo system in it. Includes Pioneer 7" touchscreen CD/DVD player with hidden ipod connectivity and on-screen browsing. I wired the DVD player to allow DVD's to play while car is moving. Front component speakers are 6.5" Focal midrange and 1" tweeters with crossover. In the trunk is an Alpine 5ch amp and a JL 12" sub in a custom fitted ported box that leaves maximum trunk room. The car interior and trunk is fully sound deadened. The system was built with sound QUALITY in mind. It can get really loud but the sound quality is truly impressive. I am willing to sell the car without the system but would need some time to carefully remove and reinstall the original head unit and speakers. They would go with the car either way though. Flaws: 1) There is a scuff on the driver's seat bolster (se picture below). This was put there by the original owner. He had something on his belt or pocket and it happened when he was getting in or out and was very apologetic. 2) There are some lights scratches on the chrome shift knob (see picture below). They were not there when I bought it so they were put there by me. I dont wear rings and I am the only one who has ever driven it. Not sure how they got there but they showed up over time. 3) There are small scrapes on two wheel edges. One was put there by my father at a church parking lot (no lie), the other by me. I was sick to my stomach all day when I did that. The full size spare has never been installed and is perfect. 4) Very few small stone chips on the leading edge of the hood as expected with any car with nearly 70,000 miles. All were touched up immediately and are all but invisible. $14,750 with stereo Thanks for looking everyone. We only have a Porsche cars for sale forum so I hope it is appropriate that I post this here. If not, mods please let me know. Brian (Forgive the rusty trailer background. Looked like an interesting back drop but it turned out to look rather dumpy) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Very clean and nice. I would love to find out what you eventually get for your car. I will be selling my 2007 IS 350 next year. Good luck.

Good luck with the sale! I've always loved this bodystyle. I would love a manual, but the weakness of the clutches keeps me away...

I used to own an IS200. One of the best cars I've had although at 155 BHP it felt very uderpowered. I guess the 3 litre version solves the problem. Amazing build quality.
The car is very nice. Good luck with the sale. |

Nice little cars, an employee of mine had one. With the straight six I always thought of it as a reliable BMW 3-series.

This is the 3.0L inline six producing 215hp. It's got a good amount of power, especially when the ECT button is pushed, which makes it much snappier. It also has a snow button that limits acceleration if its slippery. This has a manual mode contoled by shift buttons on the steering wheel.
This car has been unbelievbaly reliable. It needs nothing. Last edited by tangerine911S; 12-02-2012 at 06:18 AM.. |

Take some black shoe polish on a rag and bet 80% of those abraisions on the leather seat bolster will come right out.
Very nice looking car!

I bet that would work but I'm not hiding anything with the car.
Free bump. Let me know if there is any interest. Bought the Tundra today! Hopefully pick it up this weekend. |

Being that it's undoubtably the best example for sale in your market and it's a popular model, I can't imagine it taking long to sell unless it's priced wrong. What do these normally go for?

A lot....a LOT.. less than this. Not trying to be a jerk, but this is priced way over market. That does not mean that the car isn't perfect or that the right buyer may pay this for such a cherry example, but the next highest priced 2002 IS300 I could find in the country is still almost $2k less than this.
I wish you luck with the sale and I've seen folks sell cars way over market before so who knows...but I feel like we were all dancing around the obvious. BTW, I'm a huge Lexus fan. Just fantastic cars and this one looks like a great example.

Consider the fact this this is the best example on the market and has over $2k in the sound system. I know I am over market, but not unreasonably so. To someone who is willing to pay more for a car that looks, drives, and feels like a new car despite being 12 years old, the price seems fair to me.

A quick check finds nice ones with normal miles, (120k), going for $4-5k.

"Best example on the market" is quite a claim. Particularly when you already list some flaws. The only way you're going to get a dime out of that stereo install is to yank it and sell the pieces on Craigslist. Right now it's working against you because you've priced the car for more money (less customers) and many people don't want a big fancy stereo and the compromises that it brings.
