Wife really surprised me with this X-mas gift!

I typically guess most of my wife's gifts for me at X-mas. It really pizzes her off. This year she got me though. I had mentioned a couple months ago that my new boss who is into RC airplanes had a giant scale bi-plane that he would sell for dirt cheap as he no longer flies the big stuff.

She somehow contacted him and bought it for me! It is 7' long and just over 6' wingspan. It has dual receiver batteries, a 50cc two stroke gas engine, 9 high dollar ball bearing servos, ball joint servo connections and some spare parts. He only flew this a couple times 5-6 years ago. He has over $3000 into it. Wife got it for much less!

Just need to change out the batteries for fresh ones and it will be ready to launch.

I am not so sure she is supportive of ALL my fun. The dirt race car project is still a dirty word in our house.

Will do.... I am going to have to re-train myself as I have only been flying electric foamies the last couple years that I crash several times per flight doing all sorts of stupid stuff down low on the deck. This thing will require more traditional RC airplane flying so that I don't roll it up into a $3000 ball of balsa wood.

Hey Tim, when I first read your title I was hoping the surprise was some goggles or some thing to show she was coming around on the race car project. Still this plane is very cool, good on her.

awesome that thing is big! i found an old proctor nieuport II Kit in a dumpster a couple weeks ago. I dont think im going to build it but it inspired me to get a cox ez-bee i have going. Which i also found in the garbage lol never flew an rc plane but i think itll be intresting
