Open carry was all we had in Ohio until a few years ago, there is still no law against it, even though all the hoopla over our concealed carry law made it sound like the anti CC were anti second amendment. If you are 18, you can carry a pistol "outside your pants, for all the honest world to feel" as Townes Van Zant wrote. I never understood the need to skulk around, secretly carrying a pistol. I guess it makes some people feel better. To me it seems like if you're going to carry, you may as well just man up and carry the sumbi*ch.

As a Liberal, and proud of it, I don't see the need to carry a pistol in public, concealed or zip-tied to your wanker. What's the point? When in Walmart, grandma is not hurrying along in the aisle fast enough? Pull the gun? Or, someone pulls in front of you on the highway, pisses you off, pull the gun? In a bar, and someone looks at your 'woman', pull the gun? Cross the street, and someone runs a late yellow, and you have to pull back, pull the gun? Two blocks away, you hear gunshots at a convenience store, do you run over there, and pull the gun? You're actually in the convenience store, grabbing a Mountain Dew, you see a black guy (most gun-toting white guys think black when thinking bad), with a gun at the cash register. Do you pull your gun? What experience, and/or training does the average nutball gun carrying whacko have to make that split second decision to pull that gun, and actually use it? Give me figures, give me examples, make this make sense to us gun haters! Other than rattling off your 2nd Amendment nonsense, none of you can follow up on this, none. Or, you carry a gun, concealed or not, just to prove your 'manhood' bullcrap. Intimidation is the word here, you do the same to family, your friends, in your workplace, to strangers, etc. All the same. Pfffffffft!

Can see that you have never been in a difficult place when someone else has a weapon? Several people on this board have been in that spot (I have but it was in a warzone) and in a couple of cases dusted the perp. Its done for protection of yourself and innocent civilians around you.

Someday you will figure this out...

In at least TWO very high profile shootings there were men with concealed carry pistols. One drew but was afraid to shoot as he might miss, even with a laser red dot. The other was afraid to even pull his as he was afraid he would get shot! Humm, why have them?

It is the brain behind the gun and the mind set, can I actually shoot someone and kill them? A retired San Diego city counsel was attacked in his garage, had a legal CC permit and pulled the gun to "warn" the 250# robber who took it away and beat him with it and proceeded to beat his neighbor who came to help and then robbed the place! The CC class I had to take stressed just this sort of mind set, use it to WARN then bad guy, etc, etc, etc!

REALLY? Saying that you're proud to be a liberal is like saying that you're proud to mooch.

I would carry every day if I could. I would rather have it and not need it than be dead in a ditch when I didn't have one.

es, I know a man who had one and failed to use it. Well I knew him. Miss you Gary.

I've used one in a legal way and I'm glad I had it that night.

As you're in NM, maybe you remember back in 2005 when a WalMart employee was being stabbed at work by her estranged husband and a 72-yr old man with a CCW stopped the matter and saved the woman's life?

I'm 6'5" and 280# (maybe 285 after tonight's tur-duck-hen). My penis length is above average and works very well. I drive an old, small p/u truck. My P-car is barely 110hp. I voted for Gary Johnson. I like black people. Yes, I've experienced what gunshots do to the human body and wouldn't wish that on anyone. I've never pulled my gun but there have been several times when I was reassured knowing I was armed.

I've had my NM & UT CCWs for almost 10 yrs. My gun is a 2-shot .410 derringer - pure self defense, not a penis extension. Why do I have a CCW? Because I have a right to have a CCW. Why don't you (presumably) have a CCW? Because that is also your right.

How 'bout a compromise - anyone illegally (improperly) using a CCW gun gets 3x the penalty?

Thats the funny thing, I cannot remember ONE time where a CCW holder has done something illegal with their weapon. As well I cannot remember ONE time where an owner of a full auto weapon has done something silly...

They are law abiding citizens, not criminals, but evidently the liberals cannot figure that one out and feel that banning them for everyone is the only recourse...

I have been in several situations that have required a firearm (in the military) and I have had friends, family and neighbors require a firearm, so this is not some "fantasy", it's reality... unfortunately.

Saturday morning, I get up early. I have two errands to run. I have just sold two of my trucks, I have 12 k in cash on me, + my weekly deposit which has about 1k in cash, and a pile of checks. I have all this inside of my checkbook which is sitting on my passenger seat. I am on my way to the bank to make the deposit, with one stop in between at the body shop supply house to get a gallon of epoxy primer.
I am coming up on a red light in town , I can see the guy as I am coming up, he is hitch hiking, and I am trying not to make eye contact, but he looks right at me when I roll past.
I cannot hear what he is saying , but it appears as if he is harassing the car in front of me. I see he is getting irate, and he is pulling on their door handle. Lucky me , I guess it was now my turn. He comes back to my Jeep. He is yelling for me to open my window, that he just needs a ride to the other side of town. I shake my head back and forth signaling to him "no" He now is starting to act like a dick. He is raising his voice, and using his body to block my jeep a little, leaning over the windshield , looking right in at my face. " Cmon man, its two days before Christmas, and its cold , gimme a lift"
I can't go forward, ( car in front ) , and I cant go back ( car in back of me). Fortunately , The light turned green, and I pulled away without incident, but I swear, I had my hand on my piece, and I was scared ****less.
I have no desire to shoot this guy, and trust me, I did not feel manly. I was fvkin' trembling.
I wonder what would have happened if he would have seen the money ?
I make frequent cash deposits at the bank. I have rental houses in the city. This summer, I saw a gun pulled out at a traffic light argument, right in front of me, and I had nowhere to go, just sitting there trying to process what was happening.
15 years ago, my lady and I were robbed in her first floor apartment in the city. They were unarmed, but two big black guys, I would have not had a chance against one of them. I got maced in my sleep, then punched in the face before I even got my head off the pillow, and both of us took a pretty severe beating that night. I muscled my way past the two guys, and got help, but I watched my lady get the **** beat out of her. Fkin' still stings to think about it today.
If you think the world is all rainbows, and puppies, you are sadly mistaken my friend. I will NEVER be a victim again. It is not about being a tough guy.
