In 25 years of living in SoCal, the ONLY time I've ever had a problem with neighbors is due to their cats or dogs spraying my property or barking endlessly. I just do not understand why people own animals and expect their neighbors to put up with them. Damn, people are stupid.

just imagine how you'd feel if helicopters sprayed your property with pesticides and your wife aborted, or your baby was born with birth defects

plausible and factual are 2 different things. and thats what pissed me off about his little story. it is not factual and not anywhere close to what happened. you can take part of any story and rewrite to mean anything, and that is exactly what he did, and it was not cool to do that because now people are reading THAT story instead of the true story.

1st and foremost................all 50 states have leash laws. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE for YOUR DAWGS UNTIL AGE 18. by then yer dawg will be in a wheelchair.


if ya paint yer dawgs dont paint them "baby poo " yellow...............they are now a target.


by letting yer dawgs run you are opening yerself to litigation big time. and criminal charges, not just civil charges.


here if a dawg attacks you you may use deadly force.

so here is an update.

newyears day my brother came up and we did some shooting on the neighbors property. i figured they would call the cops and they did. but i did not find out about it until yesterday. more on this later.

the lady that has the daughter that needed to walk thru their yard to get to the school bus paid to have a survey done on one side of the bad neighbors property. tammy lives donw the road from them, not next to them. the bad neighbor (todd) came out and argued with the surveyer that that was not right and this was his property. so late that night, todd came out and posted a private property sign on the damn to my yard, and one on state propery facing tammys house.

here is where the fun began.

i put up the sign in the second pic to make fun of his little PP sign. i mean come on, after a dozen times telling us he will call the cops if kids come on his property?
BTW, yes, tammy tried to talk to him to work this out. she even asked if her daughter could cut through for 2 days until we had the path cut. he was not nice about it.
so the cops got called on saturday. basically he said we all need to get along. all the while he kept looking at my sign and laughing saying, "man that is funny".

between saturday and yesterday.
todd has been making phone calls trying to get the sign taken down. he cant since it is on private property.
this kinda made me mad.
he called brookgreen gardens to try to get them to stop the kids from walking on brookgreen property. the guy at brookgreen asked him how long he lived there. todd said 3 weeks. he told him if he has pissed off this many people in this short of time, he better find some way to make amends and told him the kids can walk onthe property.

i new this next call waws just a matter of time.
he called animal control on me. i dont know if my dog went on his property yesterday or not. but before animal control(AC) got there, hs had to call them back to cancel the call because his dog was on my property. he had to ask my son if he could come over and get his dog.

i talked to the AC guy yesterday anyway. he is the one that has filled in some of what has been going on with other people, along with us shooting.
in short, he told todd the same thing. if he wants to put up fences and live ina compound, go live is a subdivision. you have it made out here, nad yes, there will be gun fire out here quite a bit and he needs to figure out how to get along.


like i said in the begining. this was all over someones dog(or wild animal) that got into his garbage(that was left on the ground), the same one that has gotten into my garbage.
but, instead of talking to ME about the dog, his girl friend, some young trinky, yells at my 12 yr old son and they make up some BS story about insurance wont let kids on their property and he will call the cops if they come on his property.

the solution is simple. its the same one that i came up with when i had dog problems. its not worth the fight with my neighbor over her dog, so i just make sure he cant get into my garbage and life is good. i know it will jsut start a fight with her, she is not going to chain her dog, im not going to ask her to chain her dog, i just make sure her dog cant get my garbage. i also keep him scared of me so he does not hang around too much.

have to end here. something came up.

Some people have to learn the hard way. I have a new neighbor that moved in across the street last spring. Her father is a maniac, total OCD, works on the place 12 hours a day everyday light/dark, rain/shine. He has already bullied one neighbor over a hedge impending on an alleyway.

I came home last fall & there was a big brick, obviously off her house, laying out in the street. I asked him about it as I kicked it to the curb & he said it was to slow people down. I asked him if he realized that was wrong & that innocent people could be affected & he baulked. I yelled at him to quit being an idiot & went in my house. Now he gives me the stink eye & I'm good with that, I just smile.

had to go get my mother from hospital. i now have a new resident in my house.


you guys keep talking about dogs and laws and such. he has 3 dogs and i new it was a matter of time before they came on my property. he was outside along with my son and so there was no doubt that he was caught with his hand in the cookie jar when he had to ask if he could come get his dog. his dogs have also been dumping on tammys property. so the dog point is mute, and my neighbor knows it.

you have to remember where i live. its like living in the country. we shoot guns in the backyard and dogs run free. when i moved there, idid not have ANY dogs and i had one that LIVED at my house and at times 3 or 4 others in my yard. did i complain? did i threaten or call the cops? NO! i accepted it as part of where i lived.

his twinky got her panties in a wad and THEY handled the situation like a 12 year old with retaliation. out of the 5 families that they directly pissed off, they only had issues with 1, ME. and i was wrongly accused, scratch that, wrongly found guilty.

well its over. he was outside the other day and i called him over. i said my sign was pretty good wasnt it. he said he new he was whipped after that.

it came down to what i thought it was all about. someones dogs getting into his trash. he said yea, quote "i found out it was not your dog that did it"
i told him that if he had just come over and talked to me, instead of a 12 year old, that we could have resolved this in the begining, and he agreed.
we talked and joked about it for a bit and i think things are all good. i even offered him my old workbench, which is still good, but he did not have room for it now.

people on here have talked about dog laws and such. that does not really matter here. his dogs are in my yard, and 2 other neighbors yards and so no one can really complain to anyone else about there dog.
i told him its about picking your battles. yea, there is a dog that gets in my trash and has chewed up tools and such, but instead of starting a fight that i know will not go anywhere, i just make sure i dont leave tools out or the dog can get in my trash and life is all good.

i have not really followed this anymore since gogar ruined it for me. thanks. his little "story" that was made up was no where close to anything factual that happened and i hope it did not sway anyone into thinking that is what went on.

i took my sign down. anyone need a 4x8 private property sign? maybe gogars neighbor?

All I can say is I am glad I don't live in that neighborhood.

I have learned from this thread. I have started talking to my neighbors again after an eight month hiatus. If you see negative long enough you can turn it into a positive.:):)

Glad you were able to resolve it. Picking on gogar isn't justified however, he was just playing devil's advocate. While your neighbor may not have reacted well, you didn't appear to be 100% in the right either. If you don't have thick skin I wouldn't recommend posting your personal problems here.SmileWavy

For all of those that knock California, well sure, there are stupid folks everywhere. T77 and others who recommended the getting together with the neighbor works here in California just as well. Don't give up on us yet, BUT if I ever leave the State, I vow to adopt to where ever I end up.

i wasnt really posting it as a problem or looking for a solution. just talking about what was going on at home. i think the house has been empty more than it has been lived in. besides, they were the ones losing out on relationships with their new neighbors....all of them, not just me.
