Interesting that QT likes that line so much. He admitted he stole the "pair of pliers and a blowtorch" line from the movie "Charley Varrick" with Walter Matthau.

....but his favorite line was the 'medieval' one.
Has that phrase ever been uttered before - ever? -anywhere?
...brings to mind the image of Mel Gibson (William Wallace) lying on a pallet about to be disemboweled with a meat hook.

I will see Django soon. I am a big QT fan. Is he 100% brilliant? No. Very entertaining? Yes.

Flashback: The Quarter Pounder bit in Pulp Fiction. Good stuff.

I think it was a Big Mac.

I'm a fan. As I tell me wife often. I don't go to the movies to see some emotionally draining chick flick that could happen to someone. I go to be entertained. QT movies are always entertaining. She hates them by the way, so I endure a couple of wuss bag emo boy meets emotionally damaged wench movies in order to have her join me in one shoot em up action flick. Then all is balanced in the world.

I thought it was interesting that during the Charlie Rose interview, he (QT) said Leo DeCaprio was not on his 'A' list of actors he wanted for that part. His first choice (I'm thinking John Travolta) declined the part, - so he went back into the script and re-wrote the role to better suit DeCaprio.

I stand corrected!

Still a great movie.

I saw this last night with my son.

Great flick with lots of action but the slave treatment was brutal.
The Mandingo fighting was the worst... But I guess it's one of the first time we've seen an accurate portrayal of slavery and what it must have been like.

Don Johnson played a plantation owner and I thought he did a good job with his small part.
But Samuel Jackson's part caught me by surprise. Why would he play such a character.

The movie looked like it was shot on film. Which is a good thing IMO.

Don't Google Mandingo. Not safe for work SmileWavy

I stayed up way past my bedtime last night to watch Grindhouse on cable.
Huge waste of precious sleep time.

Yeah...Grindhouse is one that I just didn't get.
QT best work, I think, is Reservoir Dogs.

RD was filmed in Eagle Rock CA.....

sammyg2 01-27-2017 09:51 AM

QT = over-rated no-talent self-indulgent punk.

IMHO of course.

All QTs movies must be watched at least twice. First time is just for the shock and gore. Second time is just to take in his dialog and humor. Pulp fiction is on my top 5.

Baz 01-28-2017 07:40 AM

When Pulp Fiction came out I saw it the night it premiered. Was so blown away....I went back and saw it again the next night. :)

Haven't seen Django yet but will tonight on cable channel....
