Django Unchained - Official Trailer #2 (HD) - YouTube

M.D. Holloway 12-26-2012 04:01 PM

Gory ?

GDNF2ET 12-26-2012 04:39 PM

Lots of blood but less than the cartoonish Kill Bill...

M.D. Holloway 12-26-2012 06:14 PM

His flicks can be over the top (inglorious baa stads) bloody.

Iciclehead 12-26-2012 07:16 PM

Ever since Kill Bill I refuse to watch anything the guy produces. He is a waste of protoplasm with his never ending focus on violence, blood and guts.

D.

I thought Django Unchained was fantastic. Over the top in a couple places, for sure. Christoph Waltz made the movie, for me. Good twists and turns, and very funny in places.

ShakinJoe 12-26-2012 07:29 PM

For you haters....the movies are not true stories!

Relax and enjoy it.

89911 12-26-2012 08:10 PM

Watching his movies, cartoons are more believable. Seriously, I would love to have him make a movie I like. I like the guy's intentions. But his movies come across as over the top, completely incoherent efforts. Never made it through any "Kill Bill" movies.

On the list to see hopefully this weekend.

I LOVE his movies and can't wait to see Django.

Vincent: Have you ever given a foot massage?
Jules: [scoffs] Don't be tellin' me about foot massages. I'm the foot ****in' master.
Vincent: Given a lot of 'em?
Jules: **** yeah. I got my technique down and everything, I don't be ticklin' or nothin'.
Vincent: Would you give a guy a foot massage?
[Jules gives Vincent a long look, realizing he's been set up]
Jules: F* ck you.

The Wolf: That's thirty minutes away. I'll be there in ten.

on Charlie Rose last Friday he (QT) said his favorite character line of all time was .."Let me tell you what....I'ma get medieval on your ass..."
Marsellus - in the basement of the pawn shop, referring to the pipe, pliers, and blow-torch treatment soon to be inflicted on 'hillbilly' boy

D.

I was also quite shocked that a movie named Kill Bill was violent...

sc_rufctr 12-27-2012 05:43 AM

I'm looking forward to this. QT has always produced "entertaining" movies.

The "Swiss Cheesing" of Hitlers head would be hard to beat. :D:D:D

No one does dialogue like Tarantino:

Butch: You okay?
Marsellus: Naw man. I'm pretty ****in' far from okay.
Butch: What now?
Marsellus: What now? Let me tell you what now. I'ma call a coupla hard, pipe-hittin' niggers, who'll go to work on the homes here with a pair of pliers and a blow torch. You hear me talkin', hillbilly boy? I ain't through with you by a damn sight. I'ma get medieval on your ass.

Spike Lee (who dissed Django) only wishes he could write like that.

I love QT! I will watch this film. Kill Bill was fantastic. The movie was like an over the top comic book. Blood gore exaggerated so it isn't even gross any more.

The D is silent.

techweenie 12-27-2012 07:50 AM

I've been a big fan since seeing Reservoir Dogs debut in a theater Tarentino had to rent because he couldn't get anyone to show it.

Pulp Fiction was and is a great movie.

But the grindhouse films were weak and Inglourious *******s was total cr@p, IMO. And Django looks like more of the same. Someone said Tarentino no longer makes movies but now makes 2 hour trailers. Pass.

GDNF2ET 12-27-2012 11:12 AM

True Romance was written by QT also..One of my favs.. Great story with LiL blood....All star cast..

Interesting that QT likes that line so much. He admitted he stole the "pair of pliers and a blowtorch" line from the movie "Charley Varrick" with Walter Matthau.

Nostril Cheese 12-27-2012 01:22 PM

QT' s whole career is a rip off of other films. that said, i prefer the original Django.

I think most directors - probably all of them - pull from their personal favorite film history. The "problem" with Tarantino is his love of pop culture films means a much broader audience can identify his influences, at least those of a similar age to him (I've spoken to lots of people in their 20s who didn't know Thurman's outfit in Kill BIll 1 was a shout out to Bruce Lee's track suit in "Game of Death").

To dissect the other guys, you have to be much more of a film geek. Most people don't catch the references, the rest feel smug for knowing where they're from.
