Back Plastic Convertible top window

I picked up a 88 E30 convertible last week. Owner was leaving town and had to sell. Anyway the top itself is only a year or so old but the back window has gotten cloudy. Any products out there that address this? The window itself it not a zip out, its sewn in.

I had the same problem with the rear window in my 911 cab, in addition to some good scratches. A local upholstery shop replaced the window for $250.

Novus has the best plastic cleaner and polish system. Give it a try. At the worst you are only out $18.00. I've used it before with some pleasant results.

I'd try the novus first.

Our Miata had a cruddy back window when I bought it.
Instead of buying the proper window from Mazda, a local upholstery shop has a big roll of the clear vinyl for making boat tops and covers. They just peeled some off the roll, cut it to fit, and sewed it in.

Don't remember the total cost, other than it was way cheaper than just buying the window from Mazda.

I used turtle wax headlight lens restorer. It's $10. I tried it on a whim and was blown away how good it worked. I do not impress easily. Try it.

A local upholstry shop here wants $500 to replace the window. For a few more buck I can get a new top. I may try that turtle wax

Good looking E30. I'd like to get a cab as well.

I had good luck with this on my Boxster rear window. Not like new, but significantly better. Otherwise I'd shop the local upholstery shops.
