i do. i typically watch from afar. but sometimes i get dragged into the conversations. two of my coworkers..call them "date-less wonder #1" and date-less wonder #2". this is all they talk about!! finding MRS RIGHT..(or MRS ALRIGHT). i see it as an ugly spiral. they reek of desperation which is like repellant.. the more repellant, the more desperation.

some man that walks his dog on the same trail as my wife..that is all he talks about also. he rang my doorbell!! i almost pepper sprayed him. a couple of my wife's girlfriends..reeking of desperation.

how do you suppose they break the viscous cycle? how do they put up more attractive plumage? it gets worse as time marches on.

the holidays..i hear more about it. my jokes about not having to buy any gifts..apparently not funny to a desperate love seeker. :)

Hell no. The longer I can put it off the better.

When I find the one...i'll know. Until then I will be keep on keeping on at my current pace/happiness.

Wow, people can sense desparation like dogs sense fear. These people need to get a hobby, or maybe start working out, but somehow reach a new social circle that don't particularly know them.

I think the biggest problem is, they are placing alot of pressure on themselves to do or say the right thing and come off as being needy and desparate. They need to make a New Years resolution to not be concerned at all with getting married, starting a new relationship, or even meeting someone new. When they take all the pressure off of themselves and get immersed in a hobby or excersise, they will find that others will be attracted to them for who they are, not what they are trying to be.

Don't know any personally, but the mainstream media would have you believe that most homosexuals are desperate to.

Oh goodness... Unfortunately, I've met several of them - Men DESPERATE to get married... They go from pathetic, where you kind of feel sorry for them, to obsessive, to controlling, to STALKING and worse.

Seriously, if you are on the receiving end of a DESPERATE person's desire, RUN!

I know one - good buddy of mine. He is one wife #4 right now.

He is one of those people who just cannot live w/o a wife in his life - more common in women. He is not high on the scales angela noted - somewhat persnickety/controlling maybe.

I've known a few men like that. Wimmen can smell it on them from afar and then just run. I expect it goes both ways. I think the best thing for either to do is to stop letting it run your life, just enjoy the rest of your life. Eventually that will become attractive and they'll find you. Desperation become a self prophecy and just gets worse unless you just decide to not indulge in it anymore.

I've run across quite a few, but not in a long time. I do remember several young women (who were "out of place) always hanging out in the engineering buildings where I went to college - they were all working on their MRS degrees...

My brother in law is 30 and DESPERATE. Every woman that he meets is "the one", despite the fact that they're usually about 22 and still in college. We can usually see the developing train wreck months in advance. He tries to force it by buying them stuff, and typically ends up a borderline stalker. Pretty bad when you're dating WOMEN that aren't interested in commitment. He always tries to act like a player around me but cries to his mom and sisters about how he's going to be single forever. Because he's too cool he won't try any form of online dating where he might actually find a woman interested in a serious relationship. He's a good looking guy with a good professional career and the owner of a nice house, but he's a damn emotional train wreck.
