Hmmm, isn't Texas a Republic and Mass a Commonwealth?
|
For me, as a kid, Arizona with its bright colors was the winner. :)
Some states have cooler flags once you actually learn the history. |
Va is a commonwealth as well. Makes me wonder how we can have a state police dept.

Hmmm.... this is getting close to PARF
I do agree with the comment on Alabama's flag - it looks incomplete at best. Although I suspect the design comes from the manner in which many people in that state sign their name. ;) (Actually, it is the same as the cross of St. Patrick, which was incorporated into the British flag in 1801.) More seriously, I think the state flags of Ohio, Hawaii, and New Mexico are interesting. Ohio - a unique shape; more of a pennant than a flag Hawaii - showing the British roots New Mexico - elegant simplicity http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1356801539.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1356801559.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1356801587.jpg |

Georgia used to have the Mananas battle flag, which was never a confederate symbol for their nation. I do like the new Georgia flag as it is very close to the confederate flag. It's thumbing its nose at the Federal government. I love that.
The Flag of the Confederacy as it flew over the capital building in Richmond, during the administration of President Jefferson Davis (POTCS). http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1356804394.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1356804408.jpg GEORGIA http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1356804421.jpg |
