suggestions on selling a car hauler
A coworker is downsizing and has asked me to help him sell his car trailer. I've been trying to do some research on price and where to list such a thing. Any thoughts are welcome.
This is a two or three year old trailer. I think it's a 24 footer. It has two axels so I assume it'll haul some weight. IIRC it says Haulmark on the side. Thanks.

A buyer is going to want to know a lot more than that. What is it made of, steel, aluminum? Enclosed? What size tires? Is it flat or beavertail? How many brakes? Are they electric? There may be an ID tag on it with the load capacity, but it can be surmised from the size of the tires.
Go to Haulmark and find out what it cost new. Research the usual car marketing sites to get an idea of price once you know what you have. Good luck.

Look on Racingjunk.com for prices, If you sign up you get two free adds. Also Craigslist is worth a try.

You can buy a new 7000 lb open trailer for under $3000.
You'll sell that one on Craigslist within days for about $2000. Haulmarks are typically enclosed. If its enclosed that changes things as condition and options will vary widely. But $4500 is probably the ballpark if it's really 3 years old. Does it have torsion axles or leaf springs? 7000 pound GAWR or 10200? V nose or flat nose? Finished inside? No reason to list it anywhere but on CL.

Thanks guys. I just took a few pics. It is enclosed and unfinished. I'll need to go back to the shop to look at the suspension and brake set up unless I can look up the model number on Haulmark's web site.

It will have drum brakes on all four wheels
The torsion vs leaf springs really won't make a huge difference in what it sells for now. It's a preference thing, and you'll need to know when someone asks the question. You can buy brand new 24ft enclosed car trailers for $3500 or so Like this: Still, Haulmark is a known brand and your local dealer still wants $5K+ for a new one. I think you're in the $4000ish range for your 3 year old Haulmark, if it's still like-new Good luck!
