Put 1000lbs of stuff on the back of that Chevy and watch him pull the bumper off that VW.

The Chevy also clearly doesn't have ladder bars on the rear suspension. Get rid of the wheel hop, and it would be a different story. Chevy owner built the truck to look tough, not be tough.

The extra lbft of torque that the V10 TDI puts out don't hurt either....

That's a seriously badass motor.... Coupled with some of the best AWD tech on earth...

Now let's see the competition in the 5 year maintenance costs of the TDI vs. Duramax.

The Vdub is all wheel drive? Then they should try that with a 4WD chevy in low range and a 1000lbs in the bed for a little more grip.

This must be the reason that torque and dork rhyme!

I thought that the VW won some sort of towing challenge when it was released? Besides if you want to start modifying the chevy truck then you must modify the VW to keep things consistent.

BINGO! (but then I wonder if an actual stock Chevy, lower to the ground, would have faired a little better) But that 10 cyl VW is a beast.

Au contrair mon frair....... The post emissions laws diesel pickups are very cheap to work on, and they break.... A lot.... Pick a brand and I know stories of friends that have had huge repairs under warranty, or a huge bill just under warranty, causing the sale of the truck. There is a reason my dad MADE 5k on an 06 model truck that he bought in 08 and sold last year, it was the newest truck available without the emission crap.

Diesel Cayennes are here!! Just not the V10.

A Chevy guy will never admit defeat so it's not worth banging on them.

You guys are so funny. I would like to see how the VW does towing a loaded car trailer up the side of a NC mountain. I have done it several times in my diesel F250....accelerating and passing everyone (including cars) on the way to the top!

If the weight distributions, 4wd low, etc. were equal I wonder if the outcome would be the same

553ftlbs of torque for the V10 TDI Toureg and 5825lbs. How does that stack up against the F250?

Or Ford guys!

Trust me, I have a V6 weakling Cayenne and I am blown away with it's 7000+ lb towing capacity. The V10 oil burner would be ridiculous in a good way!
