Do you think Pano will bother with accessories for older Porsches? Non-PAG parts?

I have a dream...

I also read and subscribe to some of the Porsche UK magazines, I think there is 4 of them for a population of how many? "Classic Porsche", "GT Purely Porsche", "Total 911" and "911 and Porsche World", and we have one and a half?? Pano being a purely club magazine, and Excellence.

Personally I think the best vintage magazine is "Octane" imho (and it's yet another British car magazine).

Like many others here have mentioned, I've also slacked off on my readings of the latest Excellence and Pano, takes me about a week to get to them, and then I also just skim them. But, I'm still glad to have Excellence to read... Pano? dunno..., I'll wait a few months for Pete's input and decide if I need to keep sending in that check.

Well I sure hope Excellence finds a great editor because I anxiously await delivery of that mag!

Someone should bring back Auto Buff. Now there was a real mans car mag. ;)

Excellence was a good mag? Who knew? :) I wish Pete well with Pano as it needs some work, but hopefully it exceeds the standards Excellence set.....

Cheers

OTOH, I thought it was well written/edited by P. Stout and the many contributors who cover a wide berth of Porsches and Porsche events. Off the top of my head, I would prefer seeing more tech articles (generic/specific) balanced with the articles on mega-buck/modified 911s. Same with factory stock 911s unless there's something unusual about it or it's owner. Otherwise, how different are factory-stock 911s? I've been out of PCA for years, so I can't speak for the current format. Best wishes for both pubs.

Manny - thanks for all you do ...most ever from a president that I can recall during my 37 years in PCA (JSR region) - thought I'd get to see you at Sebring end of the month, but I see you opted out?

I'll be at the PCA club race in Sebring. Won't be driving though. Too many meetings that come up during the weekend to be able to devote all my attention to driving. I've had to put my racing on hold for 4 years. I figure the tracks will still be there when I return. Still enjoy hanging around the paddock and watching though.

If the money was better i would take it on! Of course most of the content would be about what spiders you might find in your Porsche, what women would look best sitting in your Porsche, what muscial instruments have taken on the Porsche motiff, if God drove a Porsche what year and model would it be, what role should the gubmint play in owning a Porsche, is it truly a moral delemina to covet a Porsche owned by another, does an obsession with the exhaust have anything to do with the desire to have anal sex with a super model?

Ya see, all it takes is money and that rag could be sweet! (I would need a good proof reader though....20 sump'n, blond size 4 please) ;)

I had the opportunity to meet Pete the other day while at EASY in Emeryville. He was driving his red 914 which is an absolutely stunning car and after hearing him talk about his job change you know right away he was a very important component of Excellence magazine. They definitely suffered a loss when he moved on, he is very passionate about Porsches and his craft. Pete indicated he was very fortunate to get his new gig and had a lot of enthusiasm to share about it. Good Luck in the new year Pete!!. Excellence magazine may very well have been needing a reshuffling of the deck to help forge a new direction and create a new focus. The loss of good people could only make this clearer. I hope they are successful with finding good folks to fill the gaps.
