I have the best kids in the world.

Spent a bit of time putting this together in Minecraft and surprised me with a virtual card this morning.

That's pretty cool! BTW, I so don't get the appeal of that game. My 8-year old enjoys it and is always showing me the stuff that he builds.

Computers are The Modern Day LiteBrite?

meh.

Heck I'm sure these days a lite bright has "SMALL PARTS CHOKING HAZARD" warnings all over the box.

Here's a cool stop motion with real light pegs and a real litebrite:

This and a litebrite are about as similar as a chainsaw and a graham cracker.

Thank you all. Looks come from his mother. I dont get the allure of the game either, it was pretty boring the couple times I tried it with them. If they'd rather build stuff than shoot zombies at this age I'm OK with it.

Is it still cool that I own 4 Stihl Chainsaws and Graham crackers make great Smores?

yum.

Is there Virtual Erector sets, and digital lego kits now too?

Damnnn those square nuts of Erector sets, they were a bugger with that little tin stamped wrench.

have your son text me back LOL, J/K, OMG, IMHO, YMMV.

Hope he goes out to your garage and helps you wrench on the 911, kids gotta learn skills and hands on trades. Dirt under the fingernails is good.

He already does. Small hands are great for fitting into tight spaces and young eyes are helpful when trying to read small part numbers at my age. Also uses my 08 and 024 occaisonally and makes a helluva campfire for his fellow scouts to make smores over.

There's about 10 times as much stuff he's had the pleasure of doing in his time than I did at his age, so he's very much BTDTBTFTS.

Next?

no harm no foul. I'm from troop BSoA 49 myself.

Earn a Merit Badge, wear it on your official BSoA belt. Sigh those were the days.
