Cars that can actually be had for <$35k.
Hmm, without looking at for sale ads Caterham 7 '78 or '79 930 993 '60s Lotus Elan or maybe an early 911 S if they can still be had in decent shape for <$35k

High mileage-yes.. I'm in west Canada. Prices are absurd here for even a skateboard with SKF bearings. I did NOT realize, nor would I believe the contrast in prices on a vehicle.-be it south a few 100 kilometers over the boarder. Wrong.

how about a $5000 miata and $30K for tires and spec miatafying it
There is a track prepped 914-6 clone in the back of Grassroots Motorsports for $18500, includes trailer as I recall. How about that, a few grand to freshen it up and the rest for tires I think you can see where I am going with this.

Yes I still miss my '99 Miata but would settle for Miata/MX5 NC this time.
2. Caterham 7 3. As much Porsche as I could get for $35K - another Boxster but newer. 4. A 993. Good topic Mike. I can always dream! And no wonder there is active importation of cars from the US. There are so many good cars to choose from and less rust. |
