Salt Lake City Airport Question
Supposed to fly into SLC tomorrow night from Chicago. They are expecting 2-4 inches of snow starting around 4pm. I'm supposed to land at 945pm.
Do you think I should change my flight to the morning? Will this amount of snow shut down the airport? |

SLC handles snow very, very well. I go there to ski every year. Never a problem.

SLC knows how to handle snow.
My SLC snow story: Was flying JetBlue from JFK to SFO last winter. Before takeoff, gate agents announce that due to the strength of the jetstream (against us), we will have to make a stop in SLC to refuel. (A fully-loaded A320 can't fly coast to coast with a 200mph headwind). So we take off from JFK, land at SLC around midnight local time to refuel - along with 3-4 other JetBlue planes doing same. And its SNOWING. They refuel us, then they have to DE-ICE us. All told, we were wheels down at SFO around 2am or so and I hit my driveway after 3am. Long day, but SLC handled it fine. Safe travels.

Got delayed by about an hour, but SLC can handle their business. Ready to get on the mountain at snowbird tomorrow

Funny I just landed at 9:45 in SLC tonight, was about an hour delayed,, won't make it home tonight flight out in the am now.. Salt Lake is getting hammered with snow!!!
