if you factor in just the hours, sometimes they make more then that. A lot more, sometimes they lose their shirt and make 12 depending on the job and the bid. If you are paying by the hour, will you provide tools? My gardener or yard janitor have their own tools and truck. I do not have haul rubbish to the dump or fix their chain saws when they go bad. The guys that come to clean my hill side for the fire reg. will do it for 1200-1400 dollars. The three guys will put in a full days work (sometimes 1 1/2 days). You do the math. dump charge, tools, fuel, all cost money. Damn it they ain't worth that much. I am taking them to the grinding stone come May.

I pay my guy $120 and it taks him 4-5 hours. I'd do it myself, but I have no way to haul the stuff away. He brings a trailer and completely fills it with brush and clippings each time and then takes it to the dump. If I were to try to stuff it all in the garbage can, it would take 2-3 months worth of pickups to get rid of it all.
