It caught the LH edge of the road, veered left, bounced off the guardrail (hence scrapes down LH side) and skid across the road into the RH ditch where it's photographed

Cars sometimes have a valet mode with much reduced engine power. What they really need is a journalist mode with about 10 hp.

2014 C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Pricing Tipped at $71,860?
Has the approximate price for the C7 Corvette Stingray Coupe been revealed GM's Win-A-Corvette-Sweepstakes?

The contest, which is officially run by GM, lists an approximate retail value of $82,610 (listed in the contest's official rules PDF) for the winning package. But, the rules specifically lists an Approximate Retail Value ("ARV") of $71,860 for the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.

There's no indication whether the winner's C7 will include the Z51 performance package nor what other options/packages it will be equipped with, but this figure at least gives us a ballpark estimate of the C7 Corvette Stingray coupe's price range.

I don't care if they install a rocket engine in a SUV I would rather have the Corvette. LOL;)

Interesting to learn more on the 2014 Stingray and with emphasis on lightweight they went from an aluminum driveshaft to steel. Supposably to dampen unwanted vibrations when running on four cylinders.

Not feeling it. Too busy.

Good thing is the current z06 is gonna go down in value. Come to Papa!

Saw this the other night when popping into the market. Been seeing this guy coming and going in town. Looks just like the current model when approaching head on (with just a few more creases), and looks like the current model with a jacked up body kit from the rear. Whatever...

Oh Haha 07-22-2013 06:23 PM

I saw at least 10 of these on my to the East side of Michigan tonight. Very odd from the rear but the side profile looks good. Not for me but I think they will sell well to the Corvette faithful.

At quick glance they look very much like the Ferrari California.

Are these things still built in Bowling Green?

Crazy styling, garbage wheels and stance(again) and every 50lb overweight middle aged guy with a pension will be buying them up.

The "by the numbers" post was great...how about comparing to a new 5.0 Mustang laughably close for thousands less.

C6 vettes are sweet, IMO, these are a little too "Transformers" for me.

I'm another big fan of the C5 and C6 Z06. The C7 still looks way too busy, and as SauCY noted the wheels and stance are terrible. What is it about GM that causes them to ALWAYS get their wheel offset wrong, and why the massive fender gap on a performance car?

Jim Richards 07-23-2013 06:11 AM

IMO, the appearance of the C5 Z06 > C6 Z06 >> C7.

The cheaper the C5 Z06 gets, the harder they are to resist.....

You know..there's this thing called suspension travel. If your suspension has adjustable settings, there can be benefits to more travel on some surfaces. I'm not a fan of a Aventador "stanced" fender gaps, try performance driving one of those on a rough paved surface and see what you think.

There are reasons the 'Vette laps tracks so well. ;)
