They zapped some life into the marquee, more squat and brutish which it needed to keep from being dated looking.

A bit busy as some people have pointed out, but all the glam is directed to another target audience other than the one which populates this forum.

I'm sure I'll see a Photoshop of those rear taillights which I like better than what is currently presented. If something so similar were not already on the Camaro, I'm sure I'd be just fine with them "as-is".

Great looking car... But not for me.

I liked this.

Cool logo, my favorite part.

The floors are Carbon-Nano-Composite.....they used to be balsa wood (no kidding)

The body is a mix of SMC (Sheet Molded Composite) and Carbon Fiber.

The suspension sub-assemblies (photos above) are aluminum intensive

Still has carbon composite leaf springs

Still has pushrods too....

Thanks. I am happy to see the light-wt. hi-tech techniques moving downmarket, and into a range where I may be able to afford them...

I do think that McLovin's cowbell & the lovechild comments are right on target.

Boy, it immediately dates that one. ^^^

I am not impressed. I am sure it will be fast and handle great, but it looks like a camaro in the rear, and a cross between a viper and a 240Z from the side, and a Nissan from the front. Too many bumps, air intakes, and just plain bling. The Aston or the Jag or the Audi are much better looking.

Yea, but they say it will sell for just under 54k, you won't get the Aston or the Jag for that. Explains all the plastic all over it.

'twas a balsa composite sandwich, IIRC, but carbon nano - now that is cool!

Carbon nanotube composite material could replace carbon fiber

"When people need a material that’s strong yet lightweight, they usually look to carbon fiber. In the near future, however, they may instead choose to go with composite materials made from stretched carbon nanotubes. These materials could theoretically offer the same strength as carbon fiber at one-tenth the weight, or the same weight at ten times the strength. Researchers from North Carolina State University have recently succeeded in creating such a composite.

According to the university, scientists have spent decades trying to achieve the four goals that must be met in order to create CNT (carbon nanotube) composites – the nanotubes must be long in order to effectively carry loads; they must be aligned in rows; there must be a high ratio of CNTs to the polymer or resin used to hold them together; and, in order for the material to bear weight evenly, the nanotubes must be as straight as possible....."

They don't have the full article on the web, but they have part of it. In this months "Christophorus" they describe all of the new technologies going into Porsche frames and bodies. You think the GM stuff is cool, wait until you see what Porsche is doing.

They shoulda left the old design alone. it wasn't busy at all. Napping maybe, but not busy.

Chevy.Runs.Deep...... as in a hail Mary pass (indeed, so deep that the Aztek designer got another chance)

As a former Vette owner I have to say wow, as in bow wow

It is the Pontiac Aztec of sports cars

IMO, Chevrolet should be recognized for at least this one thing...unlike the R8/10 and new Lambos, they kept the engine in the very mid-line of the car where longitudinally oriented engines traditionally have been and should be. YMMV.

Shaun @ Tru6 01-14-2013 04:59 PM

fixed.

The rear quarter window should extend all the way back in my opinion. Other than that, I think it looks cool.
