Pretty well everything that was feature on the show (cell phone to maned Space Station) came to be.
I got a nice newspaper photo but can't figure out how to load from an iPad ![]() thunderbird muppet creator funeral picture - Google Search

Cult like following the world over except in the US. Bought the full DVD set for my 7 year old son to watch. He is enthralled but I probably enjoy them even more than he. Despite the rudimentary effects the screenplay and camera work create more real suspense than many big budget modern movies I have seen. I think Gerry Andersen paved the way for every sci-fi or fantasy director since. Way ahead of his time.

I spent many of my younger years in London and Trinidad and you could never pry me from the TV when Thunderbirds was on...such amazing and fond memories.

Loved the show as a kid, had all the vehicle toys in metal, not plastic, they were indestructible.
Space 1999 was also a fav.
