Son's having heart surgery tomorrow.

Some of you already are aware of our (and his) story and tomorrow is the day. After many years of multiple miscarriages, my wife and I were blessed with a beautiful baby boy who has brought lots of joy to our lives. At only 3 mo old he has already been through 2 surgeries to repair a trachea/esophagus defect and now tomorrow is going to have his heart defect(s) repaired. To say that we are scared is an understatement and what gets me though is seeing his constant smile and getting lost in these boards.
I know tomorrow is going to be a very very long and emotional day (as we experienced similar with the last surgery) but we are fortunate to live so close to an excellent (Childrens) hospital with first class surgeons.
Thank you all for your never ending support thus far.
Jeremy

Our thoughts are with you and your family. My grandson has been in for some wicked surgeries the first was when he was 20 hours old. I know what you are feeling. Kids are tough and very resilient.

Jeremy, Thanks for keeping us posted. Glad to be able to send some positive energy your way on this important day. Sounds like the outcome of this day can have big gains for your boy. Hoping all the best for your son, you and your wife, and the Docs.

Cheers Richard

Jeremy, I will say a prayer for your son and your family. A very good friend of mine went through a similar situation with her son, including the surgeries. Today he is a healthy 6 year old. And no memory of the surgeries!

Good luck with the surgery I'm sending positive thoughts. Our youngest son at the age of one month was diagnosed with a heart defect and three " experts " told the wife and I to prepare for pending death they only gave him 1-2 months to live. We were devastated but I was determined to keep looking for a doctor that offered hope. Found a local heart specialist ( in a small town ) that looked over the records and basically said " no problem " !!! He put our son on a special medicine and here he is 28 years later and as strong as a horse. Sorry for the long winded answer I'm just trying to point out you never give up.

Wow, I bounce in-and-out of this place for a bit of entertainment, and maybe to learn a thing or two, and then BAM - reality hits. You're gonna have a lot of folks pulling for you and your family during these trying times....be well Jeremy.

Guys thank you all thus far for your thoughts and prayers, it helps when you know others are thinking of you and your family.

rfuerst, that is amazing and unbelievable. Glad to hear your son is well. We too were fortunate that a Childrens neonatologist just happened to be doing rounds at the hospital he was born at and made an immediate diagnosis and had him transported immediately to Childrens Hospital.
