I don't know much of the mechanicals, whats with all its do-dats, how many cup holders or tv screens but first impression it looks like any other SUV, cross-over. Nothing distinctive.

Can it be ugly to some? Sure why not, look at the old 110..... but what a neat and wonderful beast!

"Jumped the shark" Just google it.

I think that ^^ is the Happy Days shark jump.

Styling is 5/10. The rest of that new Range Rover is 9/10.

It's on the center console.

Styling is always subjective but I rather like it.

Styling is always subjective but my complaint is with expensive vehicles that look cheap. The newest Cayenne looks like a Mazda and this looks like a Ford.

I think I'm prejudiced but every time I look at a Rover my mind says
"expensive shiitbucket" How can anyone spend their hard earned coin on one of these?

Depends on who owns it, I had 220k on my Disco and I still see it around town. Simple push rod V8, Bosch Injection and a common ZF transmission. Was easy as pie to work on too.

Ranger Rover/ Landrover and the Oz outback have never been a good combo.

They'll do one or two trips and hold up okay, but by the second trip it's usually hampered by a 5hit load of electrical faults, sensor fails, stuff loosens up and falls off, and that rubber doughnut on the prop shaft was never a good idea.

They make a great Toorak Tractor though.

You mean it's not like they show us on US TV?

There is a house in my solidly middle-class neighborhood that has TWO late model Range Rovers. And people think I'm the masochist with two P-cars. I couldn't stomach having one of those things, let alone a (matching, I might add) pair.

Yawn ... another SUV.

Those "gills" on the door (THE DOOR!) are really great.

Yeah, No! ;)

One day I'll have to come over there and try the Alice Springs Chicken.

Yup, my Disco 1 was actually pretty reliable. Except for a few expected leaks, I had zero mechanical issues. The key is to get the older, simple ones before they started adding all of the complicated and unreliable electronics. I'll take this:

Don't like it. I had an '07 L322 which had great styling (but had to go because I got sick of taking it in for repairs) and it was a much better looking rig. They already have the Evoque & Sport, why not keep the big one looking like a proper Range Rover?

FWIW, I'm getting a Defender next.
