Well I willingly moved to Maryland, which is admittedly not the worst out there, but you go where the work is...
|
absolutely, I love Texas, as a business owner its great, cost of living is low and labor is cheap. however if I was not a business owner, I would probably not be in Texas. I also do not plan to retire here, either.

"It depends".
Some policy/laws/politics, I'd move (or wouldn't have gone there). Most policy/laws/politics that people get up in arms about, nope. For the most part, your life is up to you far more than it is up to any law or rule. I used to live in Berkeley CA, seemingly a very anti-gun locale, yet I went shooting 2X week at a great range. Here in Portland OR, with very liberal gun laws, I go shooting a lot less. It's up to me, not anyone else. |

Sure - but always considering that the grass may be looking greener ...
You usually trade one set of problems for another. See our recent "CA is doomed" thread. G |
I live in Maryland which is a nice, but expensive, state. If we retire here we would be giving most of our money to the government- and in MD they're insatiable. So yes we plan to move to a state or country with lower taxes and a more relaxed way of life.

Interesting responses, thanks for keeping it civil. I find it interesting that despite the passion over topics such as gun control and other political/social issues, most mentioned taxes as the reason why they would move.
|
My next move is for better climate, and to be closer to family.

Yep. NJ's property taxes are going to force me out of the state.
