Would You Move For Politics/Policy?

Lots of passion over recent "issues", I'll keep it generic to hopefully delay being punted over to PARF. Simple question, would you leave your current state because of their stance on a political issue? Or would you grin and bear it, even if you disagree?

Skytrooper 01-21-2013 11:12 AM

Absolutely !

Jim Richards 01-21-2013 11:13 AM

PARF-bait

Hugh R 01-21-2013 11:14 AM

You mean like CA policy of increasing taxes? Yes.

azasadny 01-21-2013 11:31 AM

I say "yes" but we can't move because we can't sell our house and my job is here. Otherwise, we would have left Michigan a long time ago.

Probably inevitable, sadly. Though the question isn't what your personal convictions are, the question is if you would be willing to uproot for them.

I'm considering this when I retire. I love where I live but too expensive for a limited income. I'm looking at TN, NC or western VA.

vash 01-21-2013 12:06 PM

No. Not really.

yazhound 01-21-2013 12:07 PM

You mean to other countries that have less crime and the citizens regularly indicate a higher level of satisfaction and happiness?

TheMentat 01-21-2013 12:08 PM

I probably wouldn't leave my province for political reasons, largely because I can't think of anywhere else I'd rather live.

However, I've gotten frustrated with our municipal government to the point of almost moving over to the next municipality!

Gretch 01-21-2013 12:10 PM

did.

left taxichusetts for the live free or die state.

GH85Carrera 01-21-2013 12:15 PM

Nope, not gonna need to. We have the same screwed up politicians as the rest of the country, but the state is mostly doing the right things. Many laws could be better, but overall I like it here better than any state I have been to and I have been to most.

porsche4life 01-21-2013 12:18 PM

I'm counting down the months!

12 to go.....

Crowbob 01-21-2013 12:19 PM

Nope. Dug in, firmly planted with deep roots.

My cheese has moved, I just haven't found it yet.

red-beard 01-21-2013 12:36 PM

I already did...

sammyg2 01-21-2013 01:18 PM

Yes, as soon as the opportunity shows itself.

fastfredracing 01-21-2013 01:24 PM

We are currently looking for camp type property/ and a place to build our dream home for when we retire, and we have been looking outside of our state, mostly because of taxes.

MMiller 01-21-2013 01:31 PM

Yes....and for better weather too

Basicly always willing to move for a better quality of life..

wdfifteen 01-21-2013 01:31 PM

ONLY because of that? No. There are many facets to life. You have to look at all of them.
