Wonderful pics thanks. They give me that warm fuzzy feeling. Best war pics I have ever seen. Gives me some insight of what my father went through in his Lancaster.
Lest we forget.

My Uncle was a B-17 pilot...never talked about it. I often wonder about the horrors he had seen. Definitely a great generation!

My Grandfather was stationed in the Mediterranean in WWII. His whole generation taught us a valuable lesson in self sacrifice and honor. Most who came back lived their lives to the fullest because of the loss they saw over there. Most never talked about their time in the service because it was something you just didn't talk about.

Fasinating photos, thanks for the link.

I'm sure most here have family history and tales of brothers, fathers or grandfathers serving in WW2.

For my part, my Uncle was the squadron leader of a Polish squadron, flying Hurricanes during the Battle of Britain and the rest of the war.

The squadron had the highest amount of enemy kills, some say attributed to the fact that they had witnessed first hand and then managed to escape to England the atrocities of the Nazis in Eastern Europe.

I will try and find a link to the RAF historic website that now has all the daily logs from that era, it's very interesting to read the actual accounts of what occured in the air for any given day.
