fundraising ideas?

One of the band groups here at the college has been invited to perform at this year's Montruex festival.

Unfortunately, its gonna cost close to $50k for the group to attend. Way beyond the means of an adjunct instructor and a bunch of students.

Any ideas on fundraising? Of course, if a Pelican music fan wants to sponsor the whole thing, we'll cheerfully accept!

Trivia nights are great fund raisers here. People have a good time and don't mind paying for it.

Sell 1200 raffle tickets at $100 each for a chance to win a 2013 Cayman.

Try kickstarter.com or pledgemusic.com. Lots of bands are funding CDs, tours, etc. this way.

You don't need a fundraiser. You need a lottery ticket. Or a bank robbery.

Car wash! lots and lots and lots of car washes...and "hire" the cheerleading squad at the school to do the washing

Why not have a few concerts with donations set at $15.00 apiece? If you can get 4000 people to pay, thats $60,000.00 right there. If its the Jazz festival, then you have until July to raise the funds. Good luck.
