Who cares if it has Chrysler switches, because it's a bloated caricature of itself. Looks like a Buick.

And why do they feel the need to go to touch screens? The Ford "mytouch" is just a huge distraction from what I need to be doing, which is driving.

They're all just a bunch of appliances these days.
Some just do the all important 0-60 faster than others. |

Does Maserati have a history of putting together well built cars?

My 2003 Coupe was decently screwed together, no rattles, poor fitting parts, etc. They are generally reliable, but when things go wrong the parts prices are simply insane. Not to mention specialized servicing like the F1 gearbox clutch, which requires the Ferrari/Maserati specialized computer and typically runs at least $5k. After owning one, I decided to stick with German cars.

You guys seem to have a good pulse on these cars. So it seems the dreaded reliability Chrysler influence is one step better then what Maserati used to be... hah.
So onto the Ford / Aston Martin generation. Watching the prices seemingly bottom out on some beautiful exclusive low mileage cars. Nice offerings for $30 to $35k range. Are they fairly reliable?

I can't speak to Aston, but I know Ford had a positive impact on Jaguar. The cars developed under Ford ownership were drastically more reliable than the previous generation. Some were mostly Fords (S-Type, X-Type) but the XJ and XK models benefited as well. My 2000 XJR was a very reliable car.

The VW switches and door handles on my 944 worked just as well as they did on my Rabbit. In fact the glove box in the Rabbit worked a lot better than the one in the Porsche.
