The Olympics are dropping wrestling...
Seriously dropping wrestling...while keeping "ribbon twirling" and anything "synchronized"? I just don't get it
 . Now if all athletes performed nekkid (like the ancients did) then I would seriously reconsider my opinion on this matter

I saw this and was shocked as it was one of the original sports. I have no clue what what goes through their heads when they decide this stuff. At the risk of sounding sexist, it makes me think the panel that decides this stuff is made up of a lot of women.

For the record, I watched exactly zero minutes of the Olympics in the past 12 years.

Yea we get curling and other stupid games, but wrestling is gone. Next step kill off track and field.

I'm right there with ya Blue...I've probably watched only a "few" more minutes than you have, but wrestling is probably THE "original" Olympic "competition"
. I'm sorry, but twirling ribbons and ballet in da pool ain't exactly my idea of sports/competition...if they're going down that path, then I suggest Sports Illustrated Swimsuit "competion" instead. I bet "we'd" watch a bit more dontchaknow

I stopped watching the Olympics years ago, anything judged is a farce, and I don't even trust the rest of it. They all cheat, they are just a step ahead of the control. Not the Olympics but take Cycling, does anyone believe Armstrong was the only cheater their? He was just better.

Let's see... Wrestling teaches discipline badmiton teaches cheating, (last summer Olympics). Terrible decision GEEZ.

^^Rugby Sevens is a new Olympic event. I watched much of the Sevens tourney in Las Vegas and rather enjoyed myself. And I'm not a rugby fan..and this was the first time I watched the Sevens format.
I could see myself watching Sevens when the NFL isn't on...

Hey! I actually enjoy Rhythmic Gymnastics, regular women's gymnastics (men doesn't really interest me), curling...I have to say those are enjoyable to watch, imo.
Wrestling? not so much. But I am surprised they dropped it. I hope MMA doesn't become an Olympic sport...Last thing we need is a bunch of rednecks cheering on dudes grabbing on other dudes. |
