I don't believe there is such thing as "Glock Bullets." As far as I know Glock manufactures firearms, not ammo.

.45 GAP (Glock Auto Pistol)

Chimney mortar. Nice.

Who is going to bet "JJ Sandy" also shoots his Glock held sideways with a gangsta pose while grabbin' his junk between his legs?

Of course there are. Everyone knows you need plastic bullets to load in the plastic magazine to put in the plastic gun. Geeze. Not much of a shooter, are you?

I thought they were ceramic, to sneak through the metal detectors?

Gotta watch out for them sneaky Glocks.

.45 GAP designed (but not manufactured) by Glock. I've only seen Federal, Magtech, Remington, Speer, and Winchester. In any event, 13-round factory mags are only made for the mid-frame (G23/.40 S&W or G32/.357 SIG) Glocks, not .45 ACP or .45 GAP.

Makes me wonder what he stores in the toaster.

Grabbing his junk or trying to find it?

Yet another reason I avoid Glocks. :D

Gun and ammunition references indicate that Glock bullets can explode at temperatures as low as 280 degrees — or even lower if they've been exposed to heat for a long time, which can degrades the structure.

Now changed to:

Someone gave that journalist a call. The article still uses bullets synonymously with "round" which is super-confusing.

Sure sounds like a fun household. Midnight waffles in the oven (pointing to frozen premade stuff), and a bus ride tot he hospital ER! :)

I don't believe you have met Jeff before.

Ammo storage in an oven has become a hot topic ...

onewhippedpuppy 02-21-2013 02:59 PM

Never know when someone's going to bust down your door when you're cooking waffles.

Hey, bullets are round.

I bet he stores his shotgun bullets in the freezer, so he's ready for duck hunting. :p

I'm surprised the police didn't give him a through grilling regarding his choice of ammo storing places.

GWN7 02-21-2013 04:05 PM

Funny, Myth Busters did a show about ammo in a oven and a .50 cal only broke the inside window of the oven. Nothing came out. The brass was what moved not the bullet. They didn't melt any loaded mags tho.

Yeah, I've seen a couple of ass hats throw ammo into the fire in hunting camps over the years. The stuff barely pops and stirs the ashes. There is just nothing there to back up the pressure against, so it never builds. We're talking slow burning smokeless powders here, as commonly used in bottlenecked rifle calibers. Black powder is another animal altogether - it will "explode", or detonate, even if unconfined.

Anyway, after all our usual PPOT fun and games with this one, I'm calling "bullsheet" on the whole scenario. The only way this could have gone down as described was if she opened the oven door at precisely the wrong moment. Either she really is that unlucky (maybe, with a boyfriend named "JJ Sandy") and her timing does really suck, or there is more to this story. No one heats up an oven with the door open, and no way in hell did it blow the door open.

Or opening the oven, the vibration, caused the rounds to touch off. I agree with what you're saying.
