Don't store your ammo in the oven

Never even crossed my mind:rolleyes:
Woman shot by oven while trying to cook waffles - U.S. News

Yet another reason I avoid Glocks. :D

Gun and ammunition references indicate that Glock bullets can explode at temperatures as low as 280 degrees — or even lower if they've been exposed to heat for a long time, which can degrades the structure.

red-beard 02-21-2013 11:58 AM

Yeah, and the crummy Glock magazine melted!

Aragorn 02-21-2013 12:02 PM

I smell a lawsuit........

or is that just the waffles.....:D

flipper35 02-21-2013 12:06 PM

Yeah, when I buy bullets in .45 for my semi auto, I get .45 ACP instead of Glock. Those darn glock bullets and casings are just too dangerous to have around the house.

I don't believe there is such thing as "Glock Bullets." As far as I know Glock manufactures firearms, not ammo.

Darwinism failed to live up to its end of the bargain on this one.

He was quoting the article.

Two things. First who makes waffles in the oven. Oh, wait it happened in Florida. Answered my own question.

Second, I bet if it was one of NY's 7 round mags, instead of the mass murder 13-capacity magazines, everything would be safe.

Of course there are. Everyone knows you need plastic bullets to load in the plastic magazine to put in the plastic gun. Geeze. Not much of a shooter, are you?

Guns don't kill people; ovens do

john70t 02-21-2013 12:45 PM

All plastic guns should be designed and manufactured to melt into a protective ball to prevent such.

Sounds like a gun made out of layers of shrink wrap.

Isn't that what Vash said?:)

about his wife's cooking....

"Sandy wasn't charged because he had a proper concealed weapons permit,"

Concealed alright; concealed in the oven.

Flat Six 02-21-2013 12:56 PM

Dude owns the oven, of course he's gonna store a spare mag in there. Not like he's ever going to do any cooking. Bigger question is why store only four rounds in a 13-round mag?

john70t 02-21-2013 12:59 PM

Waffles are pretty docile compared to mexican food.

Never would have predicted a bang.

svandamme 02-21-2013 01:04 PM

When thinking about where to store my reloading powder..I did think about the oven, but hey, it's a royal pita to clean a spillage in there. But it's black, and so is my fireplace.. So i stuffed it up my chimney..I doubt any burglar will look up there for 10 lbs of Vihta Vuori N330..
