page 2.... owner says:.... I"m the person who bought the 1973 RS. It was by far the best car there and other than that one tag (which I will get to the bottom of and figure out if I should redo it or no), the car is perfect. It is literally one of those very rare "best of the best" cars. The crappy yellow RS with non-original motor went for $550k at Amelia and the talk was that this would be $650k or so. I did some strategic bidding, caught folks off guard, and landed it for a good price. It is my first air cooled 911 and I'm very excited to have it.

Now Paul knows how the rest of us feel every time he feels the need to put yet another picture of a domestic snoozemobile on a Porsche website.

I have a friend who recently bought one for about the same price. Top notch car. That's the market these days. He also has a '58 VW 23 window bus that someone wants to buy for $130k. It's a crazy world out there, wish I had a crystal ball.

Now driving something fun istead of having people asking me "what's it worth?" Then making offers..So, just for you...a pic.

You contribute nothing, other than insights into your two conversational topics - shooting pool and a god damn Ford mustang. (I'll disregard your frequent contributions to the PARF echo-chamber. Nothing to see there.) You once promised to go away. If this site bores you then take yourself up on that offer.

So, I guess I'll show you a little less respect and caption your latest rustang photo:

Paul, I sincerely hope you can someday get past your insecurity of being a former Porsche owner and contribute something more to this site than Google images of a garden variety Ford Mustang.

But I've not understood the allure of the '73 RS when the '73 S is as rare. Sure, it was ONLY a 2.4 and didn't have the flares, but that and the S's before it are somewhat scarce. Like E's. So, was this RS one of the first 500?

Price is kinda rich though. Don't you all think and at least agree on that?

Definitely "rich"... But someone paid that for it so that's what it's worth.

As to the half million for the RS, frankly, it was inevitable. There's a buttload of dough-re-me burning holes in rich folks' pockets - witness Barrett-Jackson et al. Prices of iconic cars are meaningless to me, because I couldn't afford a genuine RS hood strut, let alone consider buying the whole car. (And, Matt, that was great. I'll remember my dad fondly as a T-Craft owner. Not as impressive as the Bonanza, but very much just as real to him.)

You couldn't be more wrong...I fully understood that I was giving Evren a half price sale. I had my reasons, none of which many here would understand....
