garden hose reel- what's a good one ?

Rolled the two year old plastic piece of crap out of the garden shed and as I rolled it in the yard it creaked, cracked and fell apart ! So now looking for a better hopefully metal hose reel. It does not have to be on wheels I would actually prefer a pole mount. Must rotate so the better half can reel the hose on. Looking to hold 150' of 5/8 hose. So who makes a decent hose reel ? And no I will not sacrifice a Fuchs wheel for the cause

When it comes to tools and implements I always buy American. I have this manufacturer for the air reels in my garage, and the water outside. They are made to last an eternity.

I don't use one and never will. Waste of money IMO.

Just store the hose stretched out from the tap. I lay mine on the path around my house right next to the wall. I bring the wet end back to the tap so think of it as folded in half.
Once it's there it's easy to use and in case of emergency it's always ready.

If you're thinking it would look messy you need to shorten your hose.

It's also the best way to store it because it laid straight and not curled up. The hose actually lasts longer IME.

All to obvious but you asked.

You'd have to roll it into the garage when you're not using it. It would get stolen for sure!

I have last year's model of this reel.

Hose Cart | Buy from Gardener's Supply

It's OK, but not engineered especially well. It should only have two wheels, as the wheels don't swivel and you have to tip it back on two wheels to move it in anything but a straight line. I had to redesign the way the hose attaches to the reel because is kept kinking.

150' is a LOT of hose. Probably more than you can reel onto a hose reel, unless you go with a farm/ ranch type setup. You might be looking at livestock stores, or Tractor Supply Co, or the like.
