For women who appreciate cars, take the Turbo. I once had a date where we "raced," her in her Boxster, me in my 73. It was tons of fun talking cars.

I think she liked the car more than me. :)

Smokin' hot Shaun. You're my hero!

Oh I meant the longhood... ;)

Take the 930. Put on side 1 of Led Zeppelin IV.

mikeesik 03-02-2013 05:45 PM

If you really want to know what she's made of, pick her up in a cab and then halfway there take the bus.
Just tell her your vehicle is on the Fritz.
Dress sharp though.
Report back.

Take the Porsche or forever give up the man card.

Hmmmmmm, my POS cabriolet has been with me longer than my former marriage......it and my three kids are discussed on every date negotiation.....they are the only stable things my life.

When I was single  I had this exact dilemma.

I met her at the resturant and we had a fun time and I offered to drive her home.

Earlier that day I had to decide on what sort of guy I am; a nice sensible guy in a Corolla or a wanker in a Porsche.

We walked a couple of blocks and she saw the 911 and said "Wow I love those cars." Not knowing it was my car. I said "You discreetly look up and down the street and if I can get it started I'll drive you home in it."

She thought this was REALLY funny when after about 5 minutes she figured out it it was actually my car.

Rodeo all the way!

Wearing nice shoes is a good tip.

alas the air cooled stigma. Life is good.

Hmm. Never thought about this as I bought my car after I got married.

But around here I think the average woman has little interest in cars other than as fashion accessories (heck, most non-car guys are like that, too). Most people will look at your 930 as either: an old car--too bad you can't afford something newer, a Porsch (one syllable), or as some sort of penis compensation. As none of those is particularly favorable, I'd opt for the Rodeo. Let her find out about your enthusiasm for cars through getting to know you, whether it's through conversation on the first date or later on.

edit: Oh yeah, we still need a pic of this girl.

99% of women couldn't care less about a Porsche and if anything it will send the wrong message. Take your DD since its all about the date. There will be plenty of time to introduce her to your hobbies if the date goes well.

RANDY P 03-03-2013 09:15 AM

you'll be a douche if you take the Porsche. That's like a 3rd-4th night (after she knows you) kind of deal.....Save the ammo for later.

Just take the rodeo, throw the french fries out and the big gulp cups and the hair clip's and other women's bras and panties and toss in trash, and wash truck real nice.

What do you think??? You have a rodeo and a Porsche. The Porsche isn't the highest level of luxury car in the world, but it's definitly nicer than the Rodeo. If you show up in the Porsche and she finds out you have the Rodeo later on, she'll know you made the choice to impress her. Taking the Rodeo will demonstrate a bit of humility and show a bit you're not interested in impressing anybody with material things. If you had a Bently instead of the Porsche and showed up in it instead of the Rodeo, what do you think she would think? Of course if you had the Bently, you probably wouldn't have the Rodeo. Have fun whichever your choice is.

I remember the 1st time I took my ex out in my 911, after about a month or so of dating (I had a new 5 series tho)

She hated it. The impression is that they are "luxurious" and she just didn't get it. Until hammered the brakes and almost put her through the windshield, LOL. It was way too butch for her tastes. They were built in an era when that was fun. These days they want quiet and cushy and blingy.

A Porsche would be like taking her out horseback....It's too noisy to deal with. You should focus on the date, and getting some you know.

If the 930 is "definitely nicer than the Rodeo" then why would you not take the Porsche?

Given a choice for a date, wouldn't you wear "nicer" clothes, go to a "nicer" restaurant or take a shower so you smell "nicer"?

I don't understand everybody's mania for looking boring or like you're not trying. Shouldn't you be trying to impress this person, just a little bit?

Been married a long time so it's been awhile since I've been on a date, so what do I know. All I'm saying is, the people who are telling you to wait for the third date to take the 930 are assuming that there will be one if you drive the Rodeo on the first :D

Cheers

What does she drive? Car hygiene?

911 Rod 03-04-2013 11:41 AM

I'm still chuckling about the Rodeo ....sex :D

I've been here too many times.

Picking her up? Rodeo probably as most woman are not that impressed with our old stinky cars.

If you are meeting her somewhere park the 930 away from the building and walk her to her car at the end of the night. If she happens to see you (or hear you) pulling out of the parking lot she might be impressed that you didn't try to show off the car.

To the former, run run run! The girls that latch onto a guy because he drives a Porsche will eventually give you the same reaction as finding a large spider dropping from the ceiling at you. I loved my yellow 944, but it attracted a lot of little shelobs. I prefer my black and dark blue ones in that they blend in better.

As for the advice, +1, don't worry about the car. Just make sure its clean which ever you take.

My thoughts exactly. Hope you took the Porsche - no brainer. You own one, it's a nice car, it's what you are or you wouldn't own it.
