Phoenix GO Carting?

They opened up a new go kart racing place off of baseline and about 20th St. Would all of you Phoenix people care to get a group BS outing together and go racing? WE could bring our cars, do a little racing and a little BS session..

Let me know if interested.

I am going to go buy there later today and see if it is racing carts or just the little lawn mowers. Will keep you posted.

Richard,

What time are you going over there? Maybe we could test them out to see if their worthy of our fellow Pelican's time!

LeeH, I am going to play a round of golf, then head in that direction. If you want to give me phone number, I can call you when I am heading that way. I am guessing around 5ish.

Okay just got back from the karting place and it looks like a BLAST. You get 3 laps to qualify, then the race for 13 laps. The cost is $20 per race. I did not see anyone get out of the karts without a smile on there face. I have attached a few pics.

SO when do you guys wanna go. Its indoors and they are open from 11am-11pm. Looks like it could get crowded without a problem. Let me know when is good for everyone.

Where is this place? I'm up for it. Tammy has Wednesdays and Thursdays off this month.

Did drivers wear helmets? How long did a race take?

LeeH, 21st and University ish....

Helmets, YES

Lap record is 30.90 sec so about 15 to 20 minutes for the qualifing and race itself.

Might have to go check it out Sunday to see if they are as fun as they look.

I was going to drive today but was pressed for time.

Your wife works alot and has a wierd schedule. May I ask what she does?

Am in and out this week, possibly working and may not go anywhere, so let me know what transpires with the karts. 100% out most of next week but the weekend should be free...

Was just getting ready to post to you. I am going Thursday night at 7pm with some "clients" from work. They are more like friends but should be a blast.

25th is fine too, I think I can mange to do it again if it is as fun as it looks.

The name of the place is speedway karting. I see it from the freeway and they have a sign on a hoist. Easy to see.

This is how I got there. 10 freeway, exit 24th street turn south go to university turn west. Go to 21st, there is a banner there. Go north til the street turns then turn east into the parking lot.

Hope that helps

I know I can't make it Thursday. It's time for my once every three year attempt at bowling with a group of friends.

I can't wait to hear your report on the karting. Also, I'll let you know if/when the 25th becomes a firm date.
