As Mike said, only one wire went into the fuse box and the rest were cut. It can't function with only one wire.

I say you take a 9V battery and try and get it to make a noise.

Jeezus Mark, that car makes so many strange noises its like its a bipolar on acid with an upset stomach... it would be tough to pin point anything ;)

Remote door lock module? Looks very similar to mine.

Yep, 555 timer and associated circuitry there and what seems to be a piezo-type buzzer (round whitish thing). Definitely not an amplifier, but rather (probably) a rudimentary warning buzzer of sorts. Definitely not crucial to your car's operation.

Well...I see it says the company is in Cali, but my phone number in my office at the military installation I work at (which deals mostly with Military Intel) is a 538 number...coincidence, or is your son on to something? (Kidding, of course, but serious about the phone number being the same as our numbers here on base)

Pulled headstud warning buzzer. ;)

I'd have the Wife go out and start the car in the morning, you know, just to be on the safe side....

it appears to be a warning device -- see if it is connected to the muffler bearing

likely warns of overheating, so be sure it is in good working order
