Software to conver WMV to DVD ?

Can someone recommend good software to convert a wmv file to play on a DVD player?

Any help would be appreciated.

Nero is excellent, but whatever DVD writing tools that came with your DVD burner should work.

Check your DVD player manual or look up on line what formats are supported. On the late 2012/2013 units they will play files like MKV or MP4 just burned onto a disc. Sometimes the size, frame rate, etc have to be certain specs such as the MP4 files I used to play on the thumb drive of my truck. For that I used a program named "Handbrake" which is an excellent conversion package. On older units they may want an "image" which means you had to create the ISO file and then burn it to disc. As noted, NERO is pretty much the standard.

Freemake - best video conversion software out there. It will create an ISO that you can then burn to DVD using something like ImgBurn.

I've written a little shell script that re-encodes using ffmpeg, generates a proper xml file, processes it with dvdauthor, and then prompts to save as an ISO and/or burn to a disc.

Thanks for the help. It turns out when I looked at Roxio preloaded software on my pc it did the job just fine. Thanks again.
